DD11 will be able to come and go in the kids club so I assume that is the case on Castaway Cay kids area. Is there a way for the kids club to contact me on the beach or DH on the ship if she needs to find us?

We will have cell phones but my understanding is that they don’t work on the island. Do they still have Wave phones and will they work for this?

How does your kid find you on the beach if they leave kids area?

They still have WAVE phones that can be used. You could set a designated meeting location on the island before you drop the child off and make sure that she knows where to find you. I am pretty sure she would still need to have a parent to escort her on and off the ship anyway.

During online check in you now have a choice of letting them disembark/embark without you at CC only, at all ports, or only embark/disembark with your stateroom.

Interesting, I thought that was for children older than the OP daughters age to come and go freely like that.

Well, from the actual club (Edge & Vibe) the kids can come and go freely, no sign-in/out.

What that poster was referring to was a permission slip for minor children to be able to debark the ship without having an adult with them. You can give permission for this on only Castaway Cay, or in all ports.

Nope. It was an option for our 10 year old. It also showed as an option for our 1 year old but I didn’t see what would happen if I clicked through for her (it’s also used to let other adults, like dad in a different stateroom or grandma/grandpa, take kids off the ship which is why it appears for even the little ones).

She can get back on the ship without an adult.

OP, if you look at the Wave Phone there is a number, I don't remember the exact order, but there is a way to call a specific wave phone. Wave Phones work on Castaway Cay so if needed she could ask a counselor to call one of the wave phones, or have a wave phone and call the other wave phone

The texting didn't work last trip. Told our teen to some see us at Serenity Bay after the teen excursion and they wouldn't let her on the tram since she was under 18. She had to walk out to find us. Was worn out, but I bought her a fancy drink at the Olaf place and she was happy again :)

They had an issue with not being able to use wave phones or the app on CC when we were there but I was led to understand that was some sort of outage--not typical. They just told us to come back to the kids club every hour or so to check in on whether our kids were ready to leave.

Cellphones DO work on Castaway Cay. Cellular At Sea on the ship is turned off because you're in port, but cellphones should lock onto the cellsite on the island even if you stay on the ship. It works the same as when you're in Nassau you're roaming on the Bahamas land-based cellular system.

I have Verizon, so voice calls in Nassau / Castaway Cay would be $1.79 per minute vs the $2.99 for cellular at sea from the ship. Of course with Verizon's travel pass i can just pay $10 for a 24 hour period and have calls / text from my normal plan (unlimited) and data to use on Nassau and Castaway Cay from my domestic allowance
