I was just wondering from all the awesome members here, how was your communication with the company you bought resale from?
I have had little or no company initiated contact from the one I am using, I have initiated the contact 95% of the time only to find out progress has been slow.

Quick, prompt, and even on the weekends. They call and email. They've actually contacted me faster than I want/need them to. Haha.

The company we used was great! Kept me informed every step of the way and answered any questions that I had promptly!

Depends on the company, some keep you informed, some don't.

Also depends on how much communication you expect. I got an email when the contract was signed, when it went to ROFR, when it passed ROFR, when the closing documents were ready, and when we closed. If you expect a daily "we're waiting on xxxx" then you'll probably be disappointed. If you think asking is somehow going to speed things up, you'll likely be disappointed. I just need to know when we've passed each milestone, and every broker I've worked with has done that.

Absolutely correct. Also highly depends on the individual reps you're working with. Some reps would keep us informed with every change or update. Other reps would take no initiative whatsoever and we would always have to call for updates (e.g. after not hearing from a rep after 30 days in ROFR, we would call and be told, "Oh, that passed ROFR 2 weeks ago.")!

Also, we experienced many delays due to the Title company. We dealt with several very unprofessional Title companies. One company did not respond for several weeks and eventually blamed it on a Title officer that had quit. Another company would provide responses only after we left numerous voice and email messages, before they were finally replaced by a different company due to our complaints! We also worked with a few Title company reps who were pretty good.

If you want to know if certain companies or specific reps are good or responsive, you can always post these type of questions on these forums. We've found that many folks here are more than willing to share their experiences. Best wishes to you during this process.

Thank you all that have responded so far, I figured it was a 50/50 on getting the person to send updates, and not daily, but i was expecting at least when it went for ROFR and returned. If I hadnt been the one to initiate the info seeking process, I'm not sure I would have heard any important communication. The "milestones" of the process would have been great. But again thank you all so much for the responses so far.

I've had mixed communication over the years. Most of the steps start coming from the Title company once the contract is signed and sent to ROFR so I think it depends even more on them.

Once I had a contract close and I learned about it when the points showed up on my account. lol
