Do you have a common name but a different spelling? Just wondering .
My name is Mishell ( Michelle) ,I have a sister named Jeanna( Gina) and a sister named Brandee ( Brandee).

My ds's name is Jarrod, most people spell it Jared. As a result he is often called Ja Rod.
I like the unique spellings b/c it means the kids' names are one of a kind!

I don't, but my dd does. Her first name is Sara. Most everyone puts the h on the end. That annoys her. Her middle name is Kaytlin (pronounced Kaitlyn). She loves the uniqueness of the spelling of that name. Her middle name is a sort of combo of 3 family members names. She really loves that.

I remember telling my mom I wanted to change the spelling of my first name. She about had a cow when I told her that. She said it's spelled the way she wanted it spelled. So I didn't change the spelling.

the typical spelling of my name seems to be Alicia, so most people mispronounce my name or spell it wrong. Honestly I think that Alicia would be pronounced wrong and the way I have it would be right.

My name is Lorelei ........ not very common. Almost ALWAYS pronounced WRONG.

For this very reason, my kids names are Megan and Jack. Sometimes people pronounce Megan with a long E and it annoys her. Jack on the other hand, is never messed up.

AMY just seems so boring to me. It's such a plain name to begin with, couldn't my mom throw in some different letters? Aimee? Amie? Amyee? SOMETHING to make it cutier? lol.

Everyone mispronounces my middle name (which I despise beyond belief). Its Aileen. Like Eileen, but with an A. Pronounced A-LEEN. I hate it. I think it's ugly, and no one knows how to say it. I also said I was going to change it, with my mom complaining "that was the name I wanted to give you blah blah blah". It's hideous I have issues with this name lol.

My name isn't spelled different it's just not common, Georgette. So I named DD's Ashley and Rachel. My SIL wanted me to spell the names differently but I said no way. I think if you grew up with a common name you tend to want to give your chidren uncommon names or common names with different spellings. If you grow up with an uncommon name I think you tend to lean towards common names for your kids. JMO

Not a common name but unusual ... Lynette. Actually I was named after my male family member who was Lannette. He went by Lanny. But, people mispell it all the time!

We have this poor girl at work who is named, Edwina. She hates her name BIGTIME! You should see how people mess that one up! LOL! One day a lady called to speak to Iguana! Usually it is changed to Egwanda or something like that!

I am Jessica and my sister is Esther (she got the family name).

My girls are Ashlynn (gets Ashley a lot) and Maiya (lots of different mispronunciations there!).

DW is Gaellynn, the lynn part was dropped in school because people kept thinking it was her middle name (NMI), and even as just Gael, people still think it should be Gail or some such....
