I am starting this really quick after just getting back from a weekend trip with the Scouts.

I can't say that I ate the best over the weekend, but I don't think that I did that much harm. We did get our exercise while trying to learn to ski. That is another story in itself.

My commitments for the week are:

Exercise 5/7 days
Eat breakfast every morning
Take my vitamin

Those are what I am going to focus on this week. I haven't had time to read the end of week 4, but will get over there tomorrow to finish reading.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Can you believe we are into week 5 of our commitments to ourselves? I think it is just great. Keep up the good work. We are stronger than we think, especially when we work as a group. :grouphug:

Good Morning Committed Ones!! :cool1:

Just got back from the weekend visiting my daughter at Indiana Unversity. Had a GREAT time but did not do well drinking water, exercise or food choices.

SO today I am back to being a committed one!!

Goals of the week -

Exercise
Good Food Choices
Water intake

Joining a fitness center per my doctor's instructions. Going to start swimming.

Anyone have an oxygen tank handy? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earsboy:

Good morning everyone- WOW week 5!! They are just flying by.

One of my bosses gave me a box of Turtles today for Valentines. YIKES! Ok, I will not eat them! I'm gonig to take them home and give them to DH and the kids. Not that I really want them eating them, but there are 3 servings so if they split it its not so bad. For me, 3 servings at 4 points each = 12 points for entire box.............SCARY!

Scale showed me 146.6 yesterday, and with WI today do you think it could stay there..........NO! I was 147.8 this morning (darn I know it was that soy sauce on the Rice I made last night. It also could have been because I got really sick (short term) on Saturday night. Not sure if it was the hamburgers I made on Saturday night or the sugar in the coconut popcicle I had. Either way, that could have been why MR. SCALE was nice to me Sunday morning. I've not had hamburger or sugar in a bit, so I think my stomach reacted to one of them.

It feels good to be in control again. Another week down! I knew I could do it, and i think it took the 1/2 marathon last month and the one coming up to really push me into getting serious. Now I finally feel like I can do this!

This week my commitment will be to

Stay OP and drink more water. Darn I have trouble with the water. 2 down for today, keep on chugging!

I also need to add for my commitment for the week, that I am only allowing myself pizza and mexican one time each this week. These are my main problems in eating right now.

Whew yesterday was a tough day. I did prevail with the box of turtles! YEAH!! My WW leader took them from me.

I had 8 cups of water yesterday!! YEAH!!

How is everyone else doing?

I did my TM'ing this morning and have gotten down one glass of water. I have also taken my vitamin, but haven't eaten anything yet. I'm off to get a breakfast bar right now.

I was a little low on my points yesterday, but I'll watch that more carefully today. I will being weighing myself tomorrow, so I'm hoping for at least a 1/2 pound loss this week.

Have a great day everyone!!

tammy and melanie you seem to rule this week :)

i have done fine with my water and exercising 2/5 done this week

the eating part i'm not doing so well with -- TOM and some other stressors pushed me over and I haven't journaled since Saturday. ok -- i'm saying it out loud - today is my day to go back on my bootcamp and OP eating -- i think i'm going to try journaling everything for the day first thing so I don't have to think about it

OK. Molli, you can get back on track and today is your day. Remember your Saturday meeting this past weekend and that should be enough to get you motivated.

I am not moving real fast this morning and I woke up with swollen hands. I guess I had too much salt yesterday. That may not be a good sign for my WI today. I am getting myself motivated to get up and on the TM now, off to read a few more threads while finishing my cup of coffee.

tammy -- thanks thats what I needed to hear -- and remembering last saturday is motivation -- i have a race to train for!

yesterday I was back on track and onward for me. I"m going to try AnnieT's suggestion to our PM group of journaling what you're going to eat the night before, but i'll probably do it first thing in the morning. that REALLY helped me yesterday stay on track as I didn't have to think about what I was going to eat, i just followed what I had already choosen

to the Y for me this morning for workout 4/5

Hey Tammy and Molli,

This morning I got up and did FIRM Maximum Cardio burn plus abs. I also did 15 min on the TM (10 min at 4.5 MPH -my fastest speed yet with walking and 5 min cooldown at 3MPH).

Yesterday I got all 8 cups of water in and I've already got 3 in so far today. I have another bottle of water on my desk so that will make 5 when I'm done with it.

Molli - Just keep thinking about meeting John Bingham when you feel like cheating. You can do it.

Tammy - Your doing terrific!! Keep up the great work!

quick check-in here -- just in from my 6 mile walk - a bit slower today it's briskly chilly here and my gluts are very sore from my weight training yesterday!!! but i did it and feel good about all of it

planning my day on plan here -- just a veg-out weekend for us. I got Ray from blockbuster online and a good book too.

I just got done with my 6 mile walk too. (with warmup and cooldown it was 6.5 miles). I actually had an average pace of 13.5 miles during the walk/run. Today's was walk 4 min/ run 1 min.

I'm thinking about doing Oprah's Boot camp starting Monday, but I'm not sure how to work the training in. I'm worried about the not eating any whole wheat for 30 days. Is training with no wheat products ok? I'm also not sure if doing more workouts "above John Binghams" workout schedule is ok? It's all so confusing. I think I'm even having problems because Oprah and Bob Greene say you need to continuously work in the "zone". John says to do your crosstraining days at a more "active rest" at more like a 6-7. Bob says to do those days at a 6-8..........so confusing!! Also John says only do weight training 2 times a week and bob says 3 times a week. I feel like 2 times a week insn't enough, but I also don't want to hurt my training.

I guess in the end, whatever I do is better than how I did the Disney half. Heck, I only did a 2 , 5, 8 & 10 mile walk with two 1 mile walks the week prior. That was hardly the right way to train. Thank goodness I had did the FIRM tapes earlier in the year. I honestly think that gave me the base that allowed me to be in decent enough shape to do the race.
