Commitment Thread - Week 4

Morning to all :sunny:

Had my weigh in this morning and I am down 1 pound!! Better than nothing!!

It has taken me 26 years to put the weight on - so does this mean it will take me 26 years to take it off? :rotfl2:

Seriously I have the no eating at night down pat!! Well no I still want to eat but I can control it. Sometime I have to sit on my hands :teeth:

Been waking up the last 3 mornings at 5am to exercise and have to admit that I feel better during the day.

So I need to commit to continuing exercise and journaling. Having a really hard time writing it all down. Get frustrated when I can't find the point value and give up..........Any hints?

Looking for support and pixie dust :wizard: :grouphug:

Have now lost 4.5 pounds since January BUT it is the same 5 pounds I have been playing with since Oct. YIKES!! So this next week is crucial to get past and see a good loss.....need the mental motivation!!

I know I can do it because I have the support of some wonderful people!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earboy2:

It's Thursday morning and I feel good. I did a FIRM tape to make up for the workout I missed on Tuesday since I made Tuesday my rest day. I got up this morning and did 55 min on the TM (Total of 3.5 miles including warm up and cool down). Eating is going well this week. Water could definately be better, but for some reason I'm just having trouble. I got a lot more fruits and veggies in yesterday. They also really fill you up and I was pretty much full all day!

Chrismiss- I agree that waking up in the morning and exercising really makes you feel great all day.

Bev- Glad your going to committ with us. The hardest part is starting and it seems like you have a handle on it now! Great job!

Have a great day everyone and keep up the great work!

Sorry, been MIA the last few days.
Melanie C-sounds like you & I were both on the late TOM bus, mine was late my over 2 weeks and I think it is the worst ever, ugh! Glad to see you are feeling better and back in the swing of things!

I ate a Hershey bar the other day and even though I never went over my calories/fat for the week, I couldn't believe how awful I felt. Then last night DH & I had a snack (over my 7pm time limit too) and again, stayed with my cal/fat but I just didn't enjoy it at much as I thought I would. It was popcorn (butter) and loganberry to drink. I had to water down the loganberry because it tasted way too sweet for me and the popcorn just didn't taste any better than the low-fat version I have been snacking on.

So what does this mean? My taste buds changing or my body getting used to the lower fat/sugar products I'm eating? I have had nothing else to drink besides water/milk and a couple glasses of tomato juice in almost 4 weeks so perhaps the sugar is the weird thing for me, I just don't know.

Anyway, glad to be back here and staying accountable. I'm going to re-evaluate my commitments as I feel I am not doing what I really want. My water intake fluctuates with my activity that day-on cardio intense days I can always get my 64 oz down, on days like today (when I do weights and lower cardio impact) I tend to barely get down 48. And I'm not sticking to my "no eating after 7" since I end up having to get more calories in before the day's end when I find I am short a couple of hundred calories to meet my "quota" for the day.

Do you guys plan out your meals/snacks for the day? I had tried to do that but have not been doing well. And since I work from home I don't "have" to do that since I am not leaving my house. Any suggestions?

Happy dancing today! 3 days of meeting all my commitments this week! Today is my off day on the TM but if I can slip it in I may still get in a quick walk. Tonight is my girls night out but I promise to eat a salad and grilled chicken breast and NO sodas.

Keep up the good work everybody!!

:goodvibes TGIF!

karen -- yes your taste buds will definately change as you eat healthier and avoid the junk. i can totally drive through mcds or burger king and get my DDs a happy meal (rarely but it happen ;) ) and not get anything at all. i'm taking my oldest DD to Mcds this morning actually, her youth group meets before school twice a month for prayer breakfast, and I asked DH if he wanted me to swing thru drive-thru for him and he's like, no it's all too greasy. so it happens, he used to love his fast-food! also with sugar, after I stay OP for a goodly time I don't want to eat things b/c they taste too 'fake' and sweet

ok tiggerkeeper I will think of you tomorrow night and your faithfullness to your commitments! we were asked to play cards with our neighbors and that means late night unhealthy snacking, and some will be drinking adult drinks too i'm sure. i'll be pumped after meeting the Penguin, right?! i gotta be strong!

i'm 4/5 in my exercising with a 7 mile walk planned tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. I had planned it today orginally; guess i'll just take today off instead. oh darn!

eating wise i'm still within my committments, TOM hit and i've been wanting more snackier type food, actually my dinner was more like a group of snacks, but i stayed OP

Well, after 4 days OP, I am down 3 pounds!!! I am hoping for another good loss this week and after that I hope to lose 5 pounds a month.

I am still not getting in any exercise, ahhhhhhhhh.

Tonight we are having "moms night out" at TGIFridays. I have already decided what I am going to have, so as long as I stick to that I should be OK. Thank goodness for Flex points.

I had a good scale day today. 147.4! A new number! Woo hoo! I'm torn at wether I want to have my official weight be what I see at home or what I see at WW WI. I'm always a few pounds above at WI because it's at night and I have clothes on.

I'ts hard to believe I was struggling to stay OP for one week in Dec and now I've been OP for over 4 weeks now. I'm so glad Mr Scale is showing it too. Woo hoo!

I'm craving Sushi so bad for lunch today. I've put the offer to go out to a co-worker so it's up to her if we go. I probably shouldn't since I have WI on Monday and the sodium in the Soy Sauce will probably make me gain some water weight. At least Sushi is low points!!

Christy- Congrats on the 3 pounds!! Woo hoo! :cheer2: I love flex points too. They allow you to have that special dinner once in a while. I had the ultimate feast last weekend at Red Lobster and I was thinking "thank goodness for Flex too" last weekend!! Keep up the great work.

Molli- I do that too sometimes with my dinner. I'll come home and have something. Then keep having mini-snacks till all my dinner points are gone. Once in a while it feels good to eat like that as long as it fills you up.

Tiggerkeeper- Have a great night out with the girls.

Karen- I know my tastebuds definately changed. Keep up the great work. I use my palm pilot. I have a WW program that i store my points in. I try to plan one or two days ahead and put my snacks in too so I know what i have to work with. If I'm not sure what I am having for dinner. I plan my entire day and then I know how much I have to eat for dinner. If I still have more points to eat, then I try to eat a snack (healthy) immediately after dinner to finish up early. I don't always make the stopping early in the evening but it's a good goal to strive for.

Hey gang! It's Friiiiiiiidaaaaaay!! :cool1: Hope everyone has meet their commitments for the week! Now work hard this weekend and stay on target! :goodvibes

We went to see The Wedding Date last night...great movie! My friend and I were talking afterward about BP meds and I told her I planned to be off mine by the end of the year. That is my ultimate goal, her response was I'll be on cholesterol and diabetes meds by the end of the year I just can't diet and 50 pounds lost would probably solve her problems. I wanted to scream YOU CAN DO IT! I can't make her but I am going set a good example around her.

I got on the TM last night afterall and stayed OP with dinner! :cheer2: That makes 4 straight nights on TM and it is getting easier!

Melanie - WTG 4 weeks doesn't seem hard now but looking back those first few days are always rough. Congrats on your determination! :cheer2: :cheer2:

sap1227 stick to your guns tonight when you go out and you'll be fine! :flower:

ohMom let that Penguin high get you through the night! And be aware of everything that goes in your mouth! Sometimes when we get in a crowd and get to talking it is easy to just feed without watching. You'll do great! :Pinkbounc I know you will!

Eveybody have a great weekend! :wave2: :grouphug:

Thanks for the encouragement! I really have seen the difference in the way things taste and was thrilled when I heard from my doctor's office today. I definitely do not have diabetes, he thinks my dizziness is stemming from the lower calorie eating plan (which I'm not used to) and the increased amount of exercise. He wants me to modify things a bit and see what happens so I'll try it for a few weeks.

Was thrilled to hear that my cholesterol (sp?) was decent at 193, would like to see that lower, but it used to be over 240 so I am very happy and my good chol is high, bad is low-yeah! Glad to know all is ok & I'm not anemic either. :)

Tomorrow is a planned cheat day for me, our family is trying not to go out to eat (except for certain planned days) for the month of Feb & we are doing really good. With the exception of a large Subway sub (which the 3 of us split) we haven't gone out yet. Tomorrow will be a tough day though as we'll be in Buffalo and those Buffalo Chicken Wings will be calling. I decided if I feel hungry for them I'm going to have em anyway, lol! I'll be back on track on Sunday and I'm ok with that.

Also had a great day today as I got some cool things from 2 local freecyclers--a ton of back issues of "Cooking Light" magazine and a ton (like 14) different workout tapes (all new-mostly Leslie Sansone and the FIRM) plus 2 small steps. I just love freecycling!

GL to everyone this weekend, I hope we can all stay OP and enjoy the days!

Sorry to be so absent lately, guys!

I've been slackin' on the Commitments too! I'm trying to do good today since tomorrow is my Cheat Day. We have a frozed custard shop in Sarasota that is our weekly family outing on Saturdays. I have tried to make an effort to get the smallest size and get vanilla with fruit (they call it a Siesta Key sunset...vanilla custard with peaches, raspberries, blueberries...YUM!) instead of chocolate with Reese Cups or Heath Bars or Snickers, etc!

Karen...we must be on the same wavelength. I was scrounging for a snack yesterday afternoon. Found DD's iced animal crackers that I love...but they didn't even sound good. I could just feel how sweet they would be and wasn't interested.

Better stuff next week!
