I wanted to go ahead and get our 3rd week thread going tonight. I am still focusing my goals in the area of drinking water and eating more veggies. I plan on cooking a little more at home this week, so that should help.

I also plan on exercising 5/7 days this week. I am sending loads of PD to everyone for a great week.

I am 0 for 2 on my challenge weeks so far, so I am setting my goals a little lower this week.

I will continue to drink my water and avoid regular coke
AND
I WILL exercise at least 4 times this week!

Christy

Tammy, thanks for keeping up with this.....I did great last week and would like to continue and add a few more. As in last week, I am gonna continue to do my 5 days of exercise...I would like to drink more water....less pop...no pop without drinking water first. Ireally did well with that last week and would like to continue the trend. Need to work on more of a SBD....SO is doign Atkins...so I have been more Atkinds than SBD...and one last thing I would like to work on this week is no eating after 8. I seem to get the munchies later in the evening and grab a handful of peanuts or s/f jello...gotta try to do that before 7 and just drink water instead.

OK, that is it for me!! Who is next?

We can do this together!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I need to commit BIG TIME! lol. I WILLexercise this week....... every week day at least! Cant comment on the eating but I have no excuse NOT to exercise!

The goals I set for myself last week I never even came close to achieving. So this week:

1. I want to stay op.
2. NO eating after my evening meal.
3. To exercise at least 5 times this week.
4. In bed by at least 11 p.m.

Good Morning and Happy Monday :flower:

Christy - Small steps are always easier to handle!! Right now look at the small parts and eventually the BIG PICTURE will appear......Good Luck!!

Renee - I am with you on the exercising!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Ok I got up early this am and walked on the treadmill at a pretty good pace for 1 mile. Not a huge accomplishment but again a small step toward the BIG PICTURE - How did you do?

Minniespal - We all need to learn not to eat after evening meals or have your snack at least 3 hours before going to sleep........another one of my problems :)

To the rest of you one step at a time!! Don't overwhelm yourself with too many commitments!! Positive results are just around the corner - we just have to keep moving towards them :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am commiting to

More exercise
Staying OP with WW
Getting more sleep

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earboy2:

I am so glad you are all here for encouragement! This week I will:
1.exercise 4 times
2.Drink all my water
3.Stop eating my kids leftovers!
Michelle

WOW - Michelle I like that last one.........I love to pick at leftovers as I am cleaning up from dinner. I try really hard to eat a mint (sugar free of course!:) or some gum....I think I need to work on that one too.

Have a magical Disney Day!!

good monday morning!

i guess i feel a bit better to see that i'm not the only one who feel off the wagon. i kinda let myself have a few days off -- no more of that. really!

one day at a time this week i will:

exercise 5 times
eat within my WW points and journaling
not eat after 7:30 p.m.
drink lots of water

i have some others i want to add; but i've got to get past my hurdle of journaling and eating on plan each and every day

Yeah -it's another week! I'd say last week water, eating enough calcium and enough fruit and veggies was my toughest problem. Some days were better than others. I got all my exericising in, stayed OP (even though I still ate too many of those granola bars-at least they are healthy and low points enough that I didn't go OP).

I am so excited too because I got up on Saturday at 6am to do my 4 mile walk/run since I had commitments all day. I also got up this morning before work and did 50 minutes on the TM at a little over 3.25 miles-which included a 5 min warm up and a 5 min coold down. I feel on top of the world this morning and can remember why I loved working out in the morning now!!

Commitments this week
Stay OP
Exercise-Do week #5 of MFM
Strive for 6 cups water
Strive for 2-3 dairy per day
Strive for 4-6 fruits & veggies per day.

Ok...I'm one for three last week. I did stick with the exercising which is pretty spectacular for me, but I slid on the others. I have another commitment in the back of my mind, but I think I'm going to wait until I get a better handle on these first! My commitments below are reruns of last week:

1. The Gremlin commitment: no eating after 8pm
2. The Potty All The Time commitment: one glass of water for every caffeinated beverage I drink.
3. The Walk a Mile in My Shoes commitment: Keep on walking, increasing mileage slowly (9.25 miles last week)

I think we are all making a wonderful statement and that is we realize that we have different areas that we need to work on. I also believe that small commitments are better than large ones. I think large ones set us up to fail, start small and then move up.

I am back into the pattern of exercising and I also am remembering why I used to love to get on the TM in the mornings. I feel like I have so much more energy during the day. I do plan on trying to get up a little earlier to get that done before DH leaves for work.

I am doing much better on leaving the Pepsi's alone. I have been drinking plenty of water and when I want something else, I go for warm green tea or just unsweet tea at a restaurant.

My major goal this week is to eat at home more with the meals I prepare. My only problem with that is I have a problem with portions. Instead of putting the dishes on the table, I am going to leave them on the stove. I will not go back for seconds and I will control my only plate.

I will be snacking on carrots and celery today as well.

Keep up the great work everyone. We need to take this one day at a time and we can do this together.

Tammy,

I am so proud of you! You are doing such a terrific job!! Keep up the great work!

Ok, I swore I posted to this thread this morning, I have no clue where it went, lol! :confused3
  • Stay OP for the week, with a planned possible cheat day on Sat (local disney meet!)
  • Exercise 6 times this week (3 days strength training, 3 days cardio), crunches every day on the Ab Roller
  • Drink at least 64 oz water each day
  • No eating after 7 pm, except for Fri movie night
  • Get to bed early, strive for 7 hours of sleep each night
  • Start thinking of myself in a more positive light and be encouraged by the weight loss so far
  • Stay off the scale until Saturday, which is my "weigh day".

Wow, now that I read all that I really am impressed with what I am accomplishing lately!! :cloud9:

It's a whole new week and today is a whole new day. Sounds like many of us are getting back into exercising & remembering why we liked it. Tammy, I agree that portion control is really hard when there is something on the table that really looks good. When I feel that way get up from the table (we no longer put the food on our dinner table) and walk over to the counter/island and decide if it is really worth it. Then I set a timer for 10 minutes and if I still want it after 10 minutes, I go ahead and have it as long as I can fit in my calorie count for that day. Usually I just no longer feel hungry and pack it up in the fridge for another time. It might not work for everyone but it works for me right now.

GL to everyone this week!!

EDITED TO SAY: WOW this is my 1500th post! Took me long enough!!!! :flower:

yesterday was so-so; i did well until my DH b-day dinner and i guilted myself into have a sliver of cake; my 12 y/o DD made it and was so proud of it.

new day today

Hi to all...

Oh MOM - It's ok to enjoy a birthday celebration and you made a wise choice only having a sliver. Today you will get back on track.

On the good news front I have really got the no eating after 7:30 part down pat. Not half as bad as it was a week ago. YEAH!!

On the bad news front TOM has come to visit and feeling BLAH and Crampy - UGH:(:( My first weigh in is Thursday and I am hoping for some positive results.

Today is my DD 17th Bday.....having Cheesecake Factory.......YUM.....not the cheesecake but all of their food. Unfortunately she is sick and home with a bad cold so I am going to pick it up. Hoping she will be able to eat and enjoy some of it.

Stay committed and focused!!

Have a magical Disney Day!!:)

Well, after a weekend of eating off plan I am back on track. I have made peace with the new scale :rotfl2:. I decided to take the weekend of eating and learn from it. Since we had snow over the weekend I made a large pot of baked potato soup that we lived off of....you know Southerner's don't fair so well in snow/ice and rumors were that the power would go off and soup was an easy fix for the grill stove if needed. But I felt so run down and stuffed all weekend, it really wasn't worth going off plan.

You all that exercise regular are my heros :worship: I just can't get enthused about it! Attitude adjustment needed!

Keep up the good work and may this week be the week you make all your commitments! Go get those stars!!

Hugs to all!

Melissa

I have to say that I think we are all doing great in our commitments. Ohmom-a sliver is better than a big piece. You had to have some since T made it. You did make a good choice, so you should be proud of that.

I have got to work on getting my breakfast down. I seem to find every excuse there is not to eat and just wait for lunch. I know I have got to start eating it.

I am feeling so much better that I now have the exercise back in place. I really do enjoy my walking and find that to be MY time and I'm thankful to be taking the time to do it again.

Remember we have to do things for ourself, no one can make us eat better, exercise more, drink more water, etc. except for us. We have to make the decision and then move forward.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Yep, yep, yep! I start whining when it's consistently below 70 degrees. (I know... :charac2: ) I've only seen snow twice.

Three dancing bananas for me yesterday!

Today's gonna be hard...got some outside stressors...my part-time job wants me to increase my hours and work 3 days per week instead of 2. DDalmost2 is in a poor daycare situation. We have her registered for a new school but it's under construction so won't open til end of March, so trying to figure out what to do in the meantime. DD12 just started soccer at school...not too bad but not sure if we'll make any of her games since they're right after school. Anyone wanna join me in a primal scream?

I think I'm gonna get on the TM and walk it off, baby!

Keep up the great work everyone. I am happy to report that I went out to dinner with friends last night and I did order a steak, but I cut it in half and brought the rest home. I did steamed veggies as my side item instead of potato. That was a huge change for me as I really wanted that baked potato. I have also been sticking to drinking unsweet tea if not water. How is everyone else doing with their commitments?
