Comments on Keys to the Kingdom?

What rides do you ride on this tour? My fiance is not good with coasters, or anything with heights so it would make a difference. This sounds like a great tour!

My tour went on Haunted Mansion, Pirates and the Jungle Cruise.

How do you book it and how much is it? We're dvc members, I think there's a discount, but not sure how much. I'm going in March with just my DS18, I think he would love this.

Just call disney reservations and book your tour, not sure about DVC discount but just booked for Feb with my Disney Visa and was discounted $12 per ticket ( $48 instead of regular $60).

Taking Dad as part of his Christmas present, he is SO excited and my sister and bil are joining us......just don't know how I'll survive 4 to 5 hours in MK without my kids......:rotfl:

My Husband and I are interested in doing this, but as we have a four year old Daughter who isn't allowed to take the tour, we would have to do it on seperate days. Has anyone ever taken the tour by themselves, and if so, was it odd at all? I would imagine that if everyone is with people they know, you'd feel like a thrid wheel. Did that make sense?

Your daughter is a cutie......

If we were going "alone" just my DH, kids and myself I would consider doing it myself, since it is a group I would not feel odd b/c chances are the group is made up of different parties and by the end of the day you would all know each other.

Of course then my husband would play golf the next day for his alone time......which reminds me on our honeymoon in Hawaii he really wanted to play and I don't so he went solo and the course matched him up with some other golfers....guess it is okay to solo if you like to meet people!

I am interested in this tour, but I am very hesitant to go. I don't want to lose the Magic. Is there an age that is appropraite. My children are 12,10 and 8 and I am not sure about shwoing them the "Man behind the curtain", so to speak.

I believe the minimum age is 16 for this tour due to the "backstage" aspect and there might be safety requirements because of the utilidor, etc.

The minimum age is 16. Your children will definitely not be able to go. I am sure Disney has established the 16 and over rule as a direct result of the "Magic" issue.

I have taken the tour 2 times. Even though I knew a lot of the info I still learned some new info. I also second Rae as tour guide- she's great! And the minimum age is 16 for the tour.

About going alone... a couple years ago, both my parents went while I watched my younger sister. They talked about the tour so much that I told them to see if they could book me for the next day. I was like 17 years old and went on it by myself. It wasn't awkward at all. In fact, I think I got a little more attention because I was by myself! When you go eat, (if I remember correctly) there's your names on cards telling you where to sit, so you'll be sitting with people without any awkward "can I sit with you?" moments. I was welcomed into the conversation and everything. I explained the situation and everybody thought it was cool.

Don't feel hesitant to do it alone!

I went on the tour alone. I used DVC to get a discount. I also met some terrific people on the tour...even a DISer!!! Hi Jeremy!!

I'm so glad you posted this! Because of this, I got on the phone this morning and booked my DS18 and I and I also requested Rae as mentioned here, but she said in all the time she has been doing this, nobody has ever requested a certain person as a guide! I wanted to tell her about the Dis, but nahhh, she probably has never heard of it:goodvibes . Anyway, can't wait to do this for the first time and again, thanks for posting this and giving me the idea!

We are going in early March for the ESPN Weekend and signed up for the tour. Our first trip without the kiddies since our honeymoon. We are so excited. I am excited for the tour. I am glad to hear such good things.
