Well we are thinking of possibly going to see La Nouba when we are in WDW next Jan. Although I have seen a Cirque du Soleil show once before, called Allegria, I would like to know what you all think about this show.

For those of you who did see it, is it worth the price of the ticket? Any place to ask for as to the seating?

I know it looks absolutely fabulous, and I wanted to do something special in Disney since Dh and I will be alone celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary.

Should I splurge and go for it?

Hubby and I are huge Cirque fans (can you tell by the screen name)... We have seen all the shows (except Corteo as it is new). We LOVE them all. La Nouba is a great show, we have seen it many times (since we live locally). If you liked Alegria you will Love La Nouba (in my opinion, we both thought Alegria was Ok...but not the best we have seen).

As far as seating, there really are no bad seats in the La Nouba Theater, but the best is to look for Category 2 seats in section 203, 204 or 205 (204 being the center). These seats put you higher up so that you have a full view of the stage. If you sit in the lower section you have to look up for a lot of the show (there is quite a bit of aerial going on)... if you have these, not only do you save a little money, you also have a full view of everything.

I definetly think any Cirque show is worth the money (we are going to see Varekai for the 4th time in December...can't wait)...

Just wanted to add that they have a dark period in January, not sure when you are coming, but there are no shows January 22-30, hope this does not affect your visit.

:smooth: Yes Yes Yes!!! Dont miss it. It is totally worth the price. We sat in the middle section, front and center. After the show, we strolled down to Ghiradellis and got ice cream. This in my opinion is a must see! :wave2:
I have seen 2 other Cirque shows, and this is my favorite.

I also loved La Nouba. My DH bought it for me on DVD too. If you want to get a look at it, maybe you can find it on DVD. Of course seeing it on DVD isn't nearly as wonderful, but it would give you an idea of what to expect.
Enjoy!

Can we buy the DVD at the souvenir shop? I would love to have it.

I jsut booked cat 2 section 203 tickets! I am sold! Hope hubby appreciates the surprise!

My DW is a huge Cirque fan and her DS is currently auditioning so she is somewhat of an expert. I am a mild fan. That being said we both loved this
show and she thinks it one of the best. Well worth the money

Just another perspective. I actually thought La Nouba was a little boring. The acts were really cool and the talent of ther performers was extremely impressive but I thought each act ran a little too long and it just got boring after awhile.

I don't think I would go see it again.

Yes you can get the DVD at the Cirque Store (or Cirquedusoleil.com has a link for Botique) But might I suggest checking on Amazon or at the Virgin Mega Store... You might find it cheaper there (Cirque sells it for $37 tax included).

Is there something that I don't get by seeing a Cirque de Soleile performance on video? I see no attraction in their performances, but so many people rave about it I was wondering if it was one of those things you actually have to see to get.

I've seen it twice. The first time we had excellent seats in the first row on the second level facing the center stage and the show was breathtaking. The next year that we went back to see it we ended up a few rows back on the second level and there were some light blocking our view. One of the live singers (the lady) was not there and they just played a track of her singing and a few of the performers messed up big time so I was not as impressed with the show.

My DH and I loved La Nouba. It was a great show for the money and nice to do something different at WDW. We had dinner in DTD before the show. I feel the same way about watching a DVD ~ no way near as impacting as the live stage show.

We went to see this last week and I don't think I'd go to see it again. It was ok- but nothing really special to me. I'm not really a fan of the circus- and I guess I'm not really a fan of Cirque now either. The theatre is beautiful. I'd suggest buying the least expensive ticket available (DVC gets 25% off 2nd tier seating). That way if you end up not enjoying this production, you won't feel like you've wasted all that much money. It's true about any seat being a good seat- you'll be happy anywhere you sit.

I've been to many Cirque Du Soliel shows including 'O' (which is the best!) I've seen many Cirque shows on TV and I cannot get into the shows at all. IMHO, it's something you have to see in person.

I do admit that although I love the shows, some people do hype it up so much that I can see why some first-timers don't really love it.

Of all the Cirque shows DH and I have seen, this was our least favorite. It doesn't live up to the hype in my opinion. Kind of disappointing compared to the ones in Las Vegas ('Mystere' is my favorite). But, if you have nothing else to compare it to, you'll probably enjoy it.

My thoughts exactly. Mystere is fantastic.. I even have the audio CD in my car's CD changer! However, we did buy tickets for La Nouba for our upcoming trip as it will be the first Cirque show for our daughters and my mother.
