We are taking our family on our first trip in January and I'm SO excited -- I already made some ADRs, and I'm about to finish them -- any thoughts on my plans?
We'll have our two kids with us, a five year old and a toddler, and we'll be on the DDP.

I already made ADRs for
Monday night -- Chef Mickeys
Tues breakfast -- princess storybook, Askerhus
Wed lunch -- CRT

I want to add the dinner show at the Poly for Tues night (we're staying there)
then I'm thinking I'll add

Thurs night -- Ohanas OR Kona (so we can eat at the Poly and then go to bed -- my kiddies go to bed early!)
Friday night -- finishing things up with Cinderellas Feast at 1900 Park

What do you think? Too many big character meals? Should I cancel one Princess meal (CRT?) and switch to Crystal Palace? How worth is is the Gala Feast?

:) :)

any recs for CS meals
Monday lunch, Poly or MK
Tues lunch or Dinner, Epcot or Poly
Wed dinner, MK or Poly
Thurs lunch AK
Fri lunch MK

am I thinking through it all? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

the amount of charater meals, in opinon, depends on your kids. My sister is deadly terrifed of them, so we are doing two charater meals, and two non charater...and they alternate. How old are you kids? And the best way to think on how they will react to charaters is think how they react to santa claus and (especially) the easter bunny.....no matter what, at least have one or two charater meals, but if they are timid, make sure the info is on the reservation, and you tell the server.

If they are fine with charaters, I say the more the better! To me, the charaters is what makes Disney magically. Also, IMO, DO NOT CANCEL CRT! I personally think it'll be a magically experience for the kids, even though it is a tad pricey. That is such an awesome resturant!

Don't blow your budget however.

When are you going in January? We will be at the Poly 1/10-14. I can make reservations on Friday, and I plan to book:

Crystal Palace
Rainforest Cafe (breakfast)
Hollywood Brown Derby
Plaza
Cape May Clambake
'Ohana (dinner)
Kona (breakfast)

I assume your children are both girls since you're doing 3 princess meals?

We are going for 10 nights and have about 6 character meals planned. My kids are 8 and 2 and they both love character meals. DS(8) can do without the princesses though so DD and I are doing 1 princess meal just her and I . And doing Cinderella Gala Feast as a family.
We also have Chef Mickeys (the best) Stitch at O'hanas, LTT, Goofy at the BC and a couple others.

Only you can decide if your kids can tolerate alot of character meals. Depends if they are iffy with the characters.

As far as CS: We like Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bills in the MK
At AK: We can't decide between Flame Tree Barbecue or Tusker House
MGM and Epcot : we usually do sit-down

Have fun

yes, dd is princess obsessed, and her toddler bro won't care. :wizard:

Any opinion on Ohana vs. Kona?

I am tempted to change one of the princess meals to Crystal Palace.

I was also thinking about Coral Reef for our day in Epcot.

Can't speak for the princess meals--never done one with 2 boys--but we all LOVE Crystal Palace. We go for breakfast each trip--love the bright, airy atmosphere, DH loves the food & the character interaction is great. We've always had good service from the CMs too. It is the best character meal I've done--my favorite!

I'm in a similar situation. I'm taking my DD6. I booked mainly character meals. I was going to do CRT, PSB and 1900 but I asked DD about Crystal Palace and if she'd want to eat with Pooh. She got so excited. I have Chef Mickey's as well which she liked too. She wants to eat with the Princesses but said once would be okay so she could see the others.

CRT and 1900 seem similar with Cindy so I didn't want to repeat but since this is her first trip (hopefully of many many more) I just had to do the castle!
