Commencing Operation Christmas Miracle Trip 2010: PTR

Good Morning Dear Readers. :) Hoping all of you are well.

The drama at our house continues....DD has had off and on stomach pains since last Friday. She missed her good friend's b-day party because her tummy hurt too badly to go. She has seemed to be ok during school but the pain has woken her up in the night and for the last several nights she has been in tears at bedtime. She felt too bad to go to school today. So I'm taking her to the doctor at 4 this afternoon. I'm not sure if it's anxiety because of daddy or truly physical. The nurse scheduled us for an extra long appointment just in case. The other strange thing is that she is constantly hungry??? :confused3 She's had 3 breakfasts this morning!

I feel like I really need to be at the hospital with DH or he'll try and sweet-talk his way out of there  When I called him this morning he said, "GET ME OUT OF HERE!"

Anyone have some pixiedust: so that I can be in two places at once??

hope you are okay today... the phrase 'it never rains, it pours' comes to mind for you at the moment! hope DH isn't going to stir-crazy in hospital, and DD's doctors appointment goes okay :goodvibes

:goodvibes DH is coming home today! :dance3: DSS is at the hospital "springing" him this morning. He should be home early this afternoon, depending on traffic. He was complaining when I called because they wouldn't let him walk out on his own but insisted that he be discharged in a wheelchair  . Yep. Now THAT is the DH I know and love.

DD was feeling fine this morning and went to school as usual.

Tomorrow I plan on having us carve pumpkins, eat dinner together and watch a movie. The weather is gorgeous fall weather right now and tomorrow so I just want us to be thankful for each other and enjoy the day together.

Thanks for all of you who have stuck with me and continued reading and offering kind messages and support and prayers.

Christmas at Disney :santa: SOON!!!

PoppyGirl :flower3:

So glad to hear they released your husband today. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. :wizard:

So glad to here DH is getting sprung! Also, glad to here DD is feeling better. Hopefully it was simply a stomach thing and has worked its way out of her system.

Can't blame him for wanting to get out of the hospital. Nothing on tv, crappy food, stuck doing nothing all day. Not much worse than that.

Glad to hear that DH is home and DD is feeling better--hope you have a wonderful family weekend!

Claire had the same thing on Thursday. I took her to school and they called about an hour later and I had to pick her up. She had horrid cramps. The worse I have ever seen her complain about, and she was HUNGRY> She just kept eating and eating, and I made her stop for fear she would make herself throw up.

So Glad DH is out. He sounds so much like mone at times. When he had his hip replaced he wanted out so bad, but I didn't want him home any sooner than needed, since I had to take care of him then. He did end up getting out a day earlier though. In fact I made some comment about him staying longer when he called for me to pick him up and he nastily said, if I didn't get him he would someone else to get him.

I am so very sorry to hear about your husbands heart attack . That had to be scary to hear. Also sorry about your DD's issues.

I hope your hubby takes it easy now that he is home and I am glad to hear your DD is on the mend. Hopefully it was just because she was worried about her daddy.

DH is home from the hospital now. :thumbsup2 He's still very tired and a little depressed. Several people have told me that it is common after heart procedures to experience depression. As a psychologist I find that fascinating....as a wife I just want to cheer him up. I know that our whole family really NEEDS to have fun together and we NEED this trip!

We took the kids trick-or-treating Sunday evening. DH stayed in the van and followed along while I walked with the kids. We referred to him as "that creepy guy in the van who keeps following us." But the kids had a great time. DH really wanted to be there but he was just too tired to walk the whole neighborhood. (We usually ToT at a nearby neighborhood where some friends of ours live.)

Yesterday I took the kids to a corn maze owned by some other friends of ours. You would have thought they just got out of jail the way they were having SO much fun in that maze. :goodvibes

This morning I was walking DD up to the bus and she pipes up and says, "Only 35 days to Disney, Mom." I have been so busy and so pre-occupied with all that's been going on in our family that I've barely had time to think or dream or look forward to our trip.

I have my scrapbooking retreat this weekend--twice a year I hold a 3-day scrapbook retreat. I cannot WAIT to get away this weekend. DH came home last night with a stomach bug...and I feel really guilty but I have to admit I was thinking "Oh no....no no no no....you CANNOT be sick! I am going away this weekend no matter what!" Thank goodness he was better this morning!

I posted this on the December thread (but since I'm going to be printing this out for my scrapbook, I'm copying it here too )
The funniest thing just happened at work. My boss had ordered calendars to give out to church members (I'm the office manager for the church). It's a running joke between us because I think they are so cheesy and every year he orders a ton of them to give away. So apparently the company sent him a sample of a Disney Mickey & Friends 2011 Calendar with our church name printed on it. He brought it out to me and I got all excited--I thought the company had misprinted all the calendars and sent us Disney ones instead of what we ordered.

He's letting me keep the Disney one with the church name printed on it.

Well, that was just sort of a mish-mash update about what's going on with us. After my retreat this weekend I'll be able to REALLY obsess about Disney! :rotfl:

good to get an update from you :goodvibes - sounds like DH is on the mend!

That is so funny about your boss & the xmas calendar.. I get similar things happening like that at work - like, tomorrow night, we're having a quiz-night for the office charity.. I work with all men, and one of them said "well.. our specialist subjects will have to be football (soccer) and... Disney.. we've got Emma on our team!"

I'd want you on my team too, Emma, if the subject was Disney! :goodvibes That sounds like fun. My kids and I like to play Disney trivia games or "Scene It Disney".

Glad to hear DH is home and is on the mend - I hope he is feeling better. Have fun at your scrap retreat - I have always thought how much fun that would be but have never participated in one (I'm kind of shy that way, and none of my friends are really scrappers). I'm sure it will be a great get-away for you! :goodvibes

I have a group of ladies who have been with me for a long time and they are just the BEST group. Last year I was so amazed to see that people just totally mixed and mingled--the ones who have been there for a long time totally welcomed the new people and invited them to lunch etc. It was great. Scrappers are generally a friendly group. You are welcome at any of my events any time! :goodvibes Truly I have made some of my best and lifelong friends through scrapbooking. In fact one of my BFFs was originally one of my first customers. She lives in CA and we travel across the country several times a year to visit with each other. Our families have gone on vacation together several times too! You never know!

I'm just catching up on what's been happening with your family the past few weeks. :sad2: I can't imagine how stressful it has been for you and your family. So glad that you found a wonderful doc and DH is getting back to his old self again.:flower3:

Your family definately deservers a magical vacation to relax and enjoy being together. pixiedust: Enjoy your scrapbooking weekend away!

Thanks. Yes, it HAS been stressful, and that made me determined to have a relaxing weekend with my friends this weekend. I am thoroughly enjoying my weekend....although I think I'm in denial that it's already the last day.

My BFF from California flew in for the weekend (she comes to all my retreats) and we sat down and compared notes on our upcoming trips in December. They just decided to go to Disney in December too! Our trips overlap by several days and we have planned to be at MK and Epcot on the same days AND at MVMCP on the same night! :santa: WOOT! She's going to try and get a reservation for the dessert party the same night that we are going.

:goodvibes
