Coming to you Live from Disney World!-Take 2 AUG/SEPT WINNERS ANNOUNCED

I got my PM so I'm checking in for September. We'll be there in just 10 days! It will be me, dh, dd11, dd8 for our 4th trip. This time we'll be staying offsite for the first time and we've decided to dine all at places new to us. On the list: Cape May, Garden Grill, Via Napoli, Trails End, Narcoosses, Earl of Sandwich, BOG, Sci Fi, Yak and Yeti, Columbia Harbour House, and Liberty Tree.

The only answer I can come up with is Donald Duck at YSH?

Yachtsman Steakhouse --DonaldDoleWhip

Yachtsman Steakhouse - donalddolewhip

Yachtsman Steakhouse - DonadlDoleWhip

Four of you correctly guessed that DonaldDoleWhip dined at YSH, so I'm awarding each of you 1 Bonus Point! :thumbsup2

And here is DonaldDoleWhip's update:

"Dinner on Saturday was at..."

Menu

Inside the restaurant

Bread basket

Roasted garlic

"We all started with the heirloom tomato salad. This was a great dish, combining tomato, sweet watermelon, creamy burrata, and even some watercress from The Land."

"My mom and I split the salmon as our main course. We both thought this was beautifully presented and delicious, with interesting touches such as the hibiscus gel."

Columbia River Salmon served with Farro Fried Rice, Hibiscus Gel, Mushroom, and Finger Lime

"We also shared a side of ratatouille. This wasn't a traditional take on the dish, but it was hearty and flavorful."

Ratatouille with Chef's Garden Summer Squash, Eggplant, and Tomato

"A pic for all the meat lovers out there..."

"That night, we watched IllumiNations from the FP+ viewing area. I thought this was a great use of FP+, since we didn't have to spend any time seeking out an unobstructed view."

"Later, we once again got dessert from Boardwalk Bakery and brought it back to the room."

"The napoleon was better than the one from Les Halles - the pastry cream wasn't too thick and eggy."

"The mocha cupcake was also great. Light chocolate cake was perfectly paired with a coffee-flavored frosting. This is the only cupcake we've had down here, and it was a good choice."

That is so cool! Did he stay the entire time? How many were in your group? This would be the coolest gift for my family (they are adults). Wow, just wow.

Yes he was at the meal the entire time! He hardly had a chance to eat his meal because he was asked so many questions. It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience!

DonaldDuck- where is the FP+ area for Illuminations?
When you enter World Showcase from Future World, there are two gift shops (directly across from the American Adventure) on the left and right. Our viewing area was extremely close to the gift shop on the right, and cast members were nearby directing people to the location.

I'm so glad we did it (and we still got Soarin' and Test Track as our other FP+ selections). :thumbsup2

Sassagoula Floatworks - ginamarie

mupt02 also had a second correct answer and receives another bonus point!

Here is Ginamarie's update from her dinner last night at POFQ's food court...

Sassagoula Floatworks

She said, "No pics of the interior because my sister picked up the food and brought it back to our room."

Here's what they had...

"Pot roast, mashed potatoes, cornbread, broccoli and carrots."

"Everyone liked this." :thumbsup2

Chicken Quesadilla served with a rice/bean mix

"They loved the quesadilla but the rice and beans were spicy and got mixed reviews."

"Fried chicken with mashed potatoes, cornbread, broccoli, and carrots."

"The adults like it a lot, but little brother said the chicken was spicy for him."

"Cheesesteak with onions (no peppers) and french fries."

"Really good and a big portion, but a little dry - could have used some kind of dressing I think."

"And I forgot to get a picture of the beignets because we ate them so fast!" ;)

so sad that we don't have a trip booked in October for the first time in five years :( but I would be so much sadder without this thread.

It must take a lot of hard work Barb but it is the highlight of my day - thanks for all the time and effort and I hope you can be bothered to continue. :goodvibes:

We have one more correct answer so far...

Prime Time Café - Gin0818

Which makes three points all together for Joh! :thumbsup2

And here is Gin0818's update from their dinner last night at DHS'...

First a menu pic...

"Jill chose the Ariel punch to drink and I had the seasonal Sam Adams (no pics). For starters, Jill had the mixed fruit and I had the fried herb and garlic cheese, which was delicious."

"Our main entrees were a grilled hot dog with fries for Jill...

"She enjoyed the hot dog but not the French fries. She is picky about French fries though and really only likes Arby's curly fries."

"I had Grandma's Chicken Pot Pie..."

"It was just ok, a little bland for me."

"For dessert, we went with S'mores..."

"They must have been good, Jill claimed the plate as hers." ;)

That leaves just two dinner locations and two live reporters. Who will be the first to complete the missing pieces of our Disney Dining puzzle? ;)

Loved the review of dining with an Imagineer. I did that in February and had the same Imagineer. He was great. We are enjoying our hotel room now- having a DVC unit is great) but getting ready for dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse tonight. No new locations for me. We have a surprise Illuminations cruise tonight (I booked it but haven't to,f anyone). So hopefully we don't get rained out like people did last night!!

I would definitely love to volunteer for October! I plan on doing a DR again as usual, but would love to contribute to your fabulous live thread as well! :thumbsup2 Hubby and I will be in WDW from October 15-26. We will be staying at OKW, BLT and BWV. Should have lots of great F&W pics to share throughout our stay!

I'm far too late for the guessing game but I am checking in to say I'm still here!

I especially like the look of Vicki's dinner at GFC :)

So, can anyone clarify about the garlic and herb cheese at 50's? Is it like Boursin? Is it very garlicky?

I love the S'mores at 50's but those looked just a little too well done for my taste - I like the marshmallows just lightly toasted ;)

Hi everyone, Excited to be included as an upcoming reporter. Traveling with Husband, & 2 Sons 9&12y. We are doing a split stay - Bay Lake Towers & Old Key West. Been to Disney 6 times but haven't been back since 2009, so we are really happy to be going back.

We have the following reservations:
Garden Grill, Chef Mickeys, Hoop Dee Doo, Ohanas, Mama Melrose's, 50's Primetime & Raglan Road. Not sure if we'll make them all depending on our schedule. Also, some counter service meals in between.

Looking forward to sending my updates. Thanks Barb jabead for all your hard work in keeping this feed going!!

I'm pretty sure it was just like the garlic & herb boursin but it was May when I had it so my memory might be wrong. It was tasty but they don't give you enough stuff to spread it on.

Becky - La Hacienda
Anne - Garden Grill ? 50/50 chance right?

Continuing to enjoy this thread Barb - thanks. Can't believe it's been almost a week since we returned to reality!
