Hello! Another August reporter checking in! Actually there are 4 of us, myself-"strawberrylilacs", DD Amy and the professional food critics in the family - DGD 14 Katrina "AnimalKingdomGirl", and DGD 12 Sydney.

Be Our Guest (couldnt get dinner ressies so standing in line for lunch - I want to see the place - don't know who will wait with me - already hearing mutiny grumblings)

Since I wrote this 2 days ago I got a BOG dinner reservation! In fact, just a few hours ago! Just trying to calm the talk of mutiny.

I received an email reminding me of a cancellation fee if I do not use my Ohana reservation in 2 days which got me to thinking that those people with BOG ressies are getting emails also. Sure enough, immediately got a reservation for 3 days from now! Had been trying a couple of times daily for months.

Even though I had to work hard to get a reservation, seeing that availability show up was like being sprinkled with pixie dust!

Am looking forward to reporting to you all starting in 2 days.

She said, "After some swim time we headed to DTD to eat at Portobello's."



"They allow some fun drinks on the dining plan here, so some of us chose to try some - a strawberry Italian soda, a honey lemonade, and a coconut smoothie!"












"DH and I got the grilled pork chop. We have had it before and LOVE it, and we don't even like pork!"








"Mom got lasagna, very good!"

"And steak with subbed mashed potatoes..."




"Both enjoyed their food, but this steak was a major hit!"




"Aunt got the braised pork, which she also enjoyed!"

"Very tender pork, very good. The Mac 'n Cheese is very cheesy, so DH got most of mine and loved it (I am not a huge fan of cheese)."





DD Logan chose...




Chicken Breast Provencal - Pan-seared and simmered in a rustic blend of Heirloom Tomatoes, Olives, White Wine, and fresh Herbs with Seasonal Vegetables and Roasted Fingerling Potatoes (looks like she subbed for Pommes Frites)


"Logan enjoyed this and let Payton taste it. Payton says she is getting this next time, so it must have been good!"

Best appetizer EVER!! This one of my all time favorite foods at WDW!

In case you guys didn't know... they sell something -very- similar at Trader Joe's with the frozen pizzas (if you have one nearby). Half of one of those with an arugala salad makes an awesome, if not very healthy, lunch.

We have received another update, this one from Kimmy2Disney.


Kim said, "On Thursday, 7/18 we got a really late start and just hung around the hotel until about 2:00 because Wed. is when we were at urgent care 'til 1 AM. We had the Dessert party Thursday night so didn't want to eat anything big during the day anyway."


So for lunch Kim and her DH went to Epcot's...

Also, send pics from any DISmeets (whether planned or not) and you will receive 5 Bonus Points for each meeting.

Hi!!! I cannot believe we leave in two weeks from tomorrow. My summer has been SO crazy busy I haven't even had a chance to anticipate this vacation. I love the waiting game but I have to admit, having the trip so close is really exciting!!!

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge at the Old Faithful Club so I'll be sure to rack up those 10 points for lounge photos and reviews! Our travel group is me, my DH, our two kids ages 11 and 9, my parents and my aunt. This will be our 2nd club level stay and we are very much looking forward to a relaxing vacation.

It is really too bad about this cupcake! The one and only time I had one, it was moist and delicious, and that was after we packed it all the way home on our flight. I guess maybe that time was a rarity; I've read other complaints about the Starring Rolls Red Velvet cupcake recently. So sad.
