Amanda (MissPrice) I was definitely on the look out for you last week but it was a bit crowded. The crowds at DLR tend to be more locals except for when the summer season starts and many APs are blacked. Plus there seems to be less tour groups so yeah, I'd say a bit more chill is a good way to describe it.

Speaking of the Disneyland Resort, let's check in with our current Disneyland reporter, Incredibleboysmom.

"I was a little disappointed overall with this meal. Nothing was bad, but there just wasn't the OMG YUM factor for me that I have experienced at Disney World signature restaurants before."



"Our check was about $170 and it really didn't feel like that great of a meal for the price. For me, the desserts were the best, especially the brownie."


"I am glad that we dined here however, simply because the restaurant is so stunning. I would go again, but would probably enjoy it more without kids."

"Rack of lamb with corn and blue cheese puree. Unfortunately my son got sick before I could start this, and I had to deal with that. It was ok but cold so not fair to judge."

"We had a snack at Gaston's while it rained. There was a lot more foam then my last time in January. It was so sweet, we couldn't finish it between all of us. Great as always."

"Dinner was at Riverside Mill since the rain never let up. We ad three Create your own Pastas and a Kids Pizza.
We enjoyed it all."

"Absolutely delicious and smooth. Very nice size as well."



"Adults had a cheese plate but I forgot the picture. Very nice variety and accompaniments...seemed more unique and varied than boards at other locations."

Oak-grilled Filet Mignon with Local Pole Beans, Spoon Bread Souffle, and South African Red Wine Sauce

"I thought that the Mac and cheese combo was the best, but I was absolutely wrong. This was even better! The spoon bread was cheesy, with corn and peppers. Just lovely."





"Couldn't resist a side of the Mac though!"

West African "Jerked" Scallops with Basmati Rice, Red Quinoa, Baby Rainbow Carrots, and Coconut Curry Sauce

"He raved about this dish!"




"DD had the Kids Steak with ancient grains..."



"Very impressive and refined for a Kids meal. She loved it and said it was the best she'd ever had!"




"My dessert was the Coffee Creme Brulee with mini donuts..."

"The white chocolate butterfly was a nice touch."

"He thought the cake was lovely but didn't enjoy the ice cream. DD ate it all though."





"Both eating kids (DD6 doesn't eat for medical reasons) had the Safari S'mores..."

Why do I follow this thread? Hours ago, I had eliminated Jiko from our July plans. But there's something new on the menu that we really want to try, and now I'm debating whether to add it back in or not!

Do it Donald! We have been to Jiko several times, and this was easily the best trip we've had there. The service was friendly-- at one point we had the manager sitting at our table sharing Disney apps with us. And the food w out of this world good, not just solid, but above and beyond.

I agree! I also thought the mac and cheese was no longer available.

They kept the mac and cheese on the Kids menu, therefore it's still available to substitute as a side dish. However, personally I think the spoon bread that currently accompanies the filet sounds pretty good.

Hey everyone , I am a week away from our dark side trip , I will be doing 3 days on universal and then moving to Sheraton Vistana in Lake Buena Vista where I hope to have some DTD updates for you all !
I will send Jabead all my pics and leave it to her discretion on what should be posted here , we will be visiting US , IOA , SW , DC , Cocoa Beach and the Florida Mall and of course DTD
We will also be hitting up A triple D location in Boston ( we fly from Boston)The Yankee Lobster Market .

We're tentatively adding it in! Jiko is one of our favorite WDW restaurants (the other is Artist Point), but based on the most recent online menus we were okay skipping both. I'm just really hoping the menu doesn't change at all over the next week.

We have a 3 broomsticks breakfast in the plans , so i will grab photo's of that and the menu for you , we are planning on visiting the new Simpson's counter service area , some city walk restaurants and probably some poolside Hard Rock snacks
