She said, "Dinner tonight is at Kona Cafe! It's been awhile! We both wanted sushi so here is that menu."

"Youngest son had the chicken sandwich plain and dry."








"DH and I split the seafood platter and ate the shrimp that came with oldest son's burger."






"And 3 Vader cupcakes for dessert."






"This was a pretty good meal for us .. nothing special but we had already done Pizza Planet and Starring Rolls so wanted something different."

He said, "I am sending pics of the menu and our favorite of the 10 courses. To see the rest of the pics of food you will have to read my trip report I will write when I get back."










Our favorite course was butter poached lobster with a vanilla sauce in a little bit of lobster bisque.

Signature Flying Fish Cafe Entree Duo with leek fondue, green beans and fingerling potatoes


"This was fantastic! I had a bite of the steak and it was like fireworks going off! The char-crust was amazing! The potato wrap on the snapper was very fluffy and really brought out the tenderness in the snapper."





"I had the Oak-grilled Maine Diver Scallops."





"I chose to have mine over a bed of veggies and fingerling potatoes instead of the risotto. The scallops had a wonderful oak taste and were very creamy."





"For the finale, I had the Sorbet Trio."




"It included strawberry banana, lemon and raspberry cherry."


"The strawberry banana was my favorite while the raspberry cherry was a bit too tart for me."





"Robby had the recommended Banana Napoleon."

"He loved it so much I'm shocked I was able to get a picture of it fully intact! Gorgeous presentation as well!"

"I had the world famous Tonga Toast and was quite excited as you can see! It was delicious as usual! I opted for side of ham."






"Robby had his favorite, Steak and Eggs. Steak medium rare and eggs scrambled. The steak was cooked perfectly and the eggs were fluffy!"

I've never been the biggest fan of Flying Fish, but Cindy's update has me wondering why! I love both of the appetizers they ordered, and the snapper is also a solid dish.

But those scallops - wow! The one time I had them (with the mascarpone risotto), I thought the dish was a bit too rich. Getting them with vegetables is a perfect idea! The desserts at Flying Fish are usually great, too.

Flying Fish just climbed up my list of places I'd like to return to. Thanks for the update, and happy anniversary.

Wow, yesterday was one weird day! First I (and apparently many other Photobucket customers) were unable to access our accounts. They finally got the problem fixed late yesterday afternoon. So I came home last night and started posting updates. But then my internet went out (just now came back on, in fact) and my evening ended with my iPhone turning off and refusing to turn back on...and not a battery issue. Just as my son was telling me that I might have to get a new phone, it suddenly came back on. So the technical gods were definitely messing with me and the live thread yesterday, but hopefully they will be kinder today.


So anyway, the last update I was able to post last night before our internet went out was dutchdisneyfamily's snack update, which she sent yesterday morning from Sunshine Seasons.

Well, to add to the "weirdness" that was yesterday, at the exact same time that I received dutchdisneyfamily's text from Sunshine Seasons I also received this pic from disnmooner2013...

Hmmm...I wonder if they were sitting next to each at Sunshine Seasons yesterday morning taking pics of their Strawberry Shortcakes and sending them to some strange lady halfway across the country?

But the live update "weirdness" did not end there folks. We had 5 reporters at Disney World yesterday. Two of them you already know were at Epcot yesterday from their previously posted updates. Well, yesterday afternoon I received updates from our other three reporters and guess what park they were all from?


First in was Becky's (BlovesC) update from their lunch at Epcot's...






She said, "I think we've easily cancelled about 6 ADRs here over the years, it sort of became a running joke!
Well we finally gave it a try!"

So happy to read this! I gave my husband the option of Coral Reef, Rose and Crown, or Akershus (with Coral Reef being my last choice) and of course that's what he picked. I just made out December ADRs Monday and ended up making one even though I wasn't real excited about it, this gives me hope for a good meal!
