I'm running a day behind, so let's start tonight with updates sent to us yesterday.


Our First Update of the Day was sent to us yesterday by Paula (smile4stamps) and was a snack update from Epcot's...





Paula said, "So the reason I declined dessert at Flying Fish last night was because I was returning to Epcot and there was a few things I NEEDED to try!"

"I had my heart set on the caramel chewy bar and the milk chocolate salted caramel. However I was pretty full last night so only indulged in some of the packaged chewy caramels (I love these!) and instead I had the chewy caramel bar for my breakfast! It was very good and I could see it becoming an addiction. I had one bite walked away and found myself going right back!! I've eaten half of it! I have not yet had the salted caramel. That will have to be for later today."

Now for a very special update from Nicole (AvasMommy526).


She and Jeff were married on Monday...






But let's start at the beginning of their special day.


Nicole said, "On the morning of the wedding we ordered room service! [They are staying at BLT] It was pretty good, expensive but it came really fast and we didn't have to leave. We had the Kids mini Mickey waffles with bacon, Ava's fave!"






"She didn't eat a lot but it was good."



"I had the Eggs Benedict with Key Lime Hollandaise sauce...






"I gave Jeff the ham. The sauce was a little spicy but it was all pretty good!"




"Jeff had the ham and cheese omelet with potatoes...





"He loved the omelet, he said the potatoes were ok!"

I'm going to try to do updates next week. We are not doing dining plan, and are going to eat off site some, so I'm not sure how much I will have, but I will send what I can. I know there will be Ohana and Liberty Tree Tavern.

Next Nicole said, "Our wedding was yesterday and it was amazing!!! The day was beautiful and our dinner was wonderful! We are so happy, it was such a wonderful two days with Ava's birthday and the wedding."







Their wedding dinner was held at the Universal Studios Portofino Bay Hotel's...








"At our cocktail hour we had a fruit and cheese platter with figs, nut clusters, cranberries and crackers."












"We also had caprese skewers, which we all raved about! Also stuffed mushrooms and endive with walnuts, Gorgonzola and balsamic, fantastic!!!"














"For dinner we had a pasta course, penne in a tomato cream sauce, delicious! Choice of strip steak, chicken Marsala or fish! I know the steak and chicken were amazing, perfectly cooked and great portions! The roasted potatoes that came with them were great as well! I don't think anyone had the fish which was mahi mahi. Most of the kids had chicken fingers and fries, I tried Ava's and it was great!"
















And for their dessert...





"Our cake was a red velvet with Oreo cream cheese filling and buttercream icing!
Again, just wonderful! It was a beautiful day."

Amazing wedding pictures! There's so much hype around Disney weddings here, so it's really nice to see that Universal is capable of producing the same wedding magic. The setting, food, cake, and (of course) the family all look perfect!

That's a very tough act to follow, but someone must so let's go now to Paula's update from her lunch yesterday at DHS'...

Fried Herb and Garlic Cheese, served warm with Raspberry Sauce and Toasted French Bread

"At first I was worried because the plate was COLD! But the cheese was nice and warm. A yummy appetizer!"




"And then thanks to Miss Emily's review (JustEmmy), I knew I could get a smaller portion of the fried chicken! I was told "not to be spreading that around!"









"I got a present!"









"And then I did something so unlike me. I was heading to see Beauty and the Beast. It was 30 min. yet to show time and I was HOT!! So I stopped here..."











"And I went with the brownie sundae with half vanilla and half mint chip. It was huge!! I did not finish it all!!"









And then later, Paula sent this update from Blizzard Beach.


"So I was going to get something from here...





...but I realized I didn't have a way to pay so I went to get a form of payment and when I got back they were just closing. But here is a pic of their menu..."

"My youngest daughter and I shared the Caesar salad. Very refreshing."

"He loved the lobster but wasn't thrilled with the filet."

I am still loving all of the updates. Only 25 days until we report for our Live Update duty. In the meantime, I have a favor to ask. I am making picture menus for my DS (he has autism) due to the fact that he needs to see the items rather than try to comprehend the description on the menu. I'm currently working on one for La Hacienda, however I can't locate pictures of the sorbets or the chocolate mousse. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could supply these for me.

It was fun doing the live reporting again. But my phone was having major issues this time and was very frustrating. So I missed alot of our snacks and stuff. Maybe next time.

I just can't wait until October for our next trip for the F & W Fest and Halloween. My favorite time of year.

I recommend checking out the Disney Food Blog. They had a lot of pictures. I don't know if they have those, but they had a lot!
