[Updated Feb 21st]
So having grown up in Largo, FL I know the end of March beginning of April is the worst time of year to go. But living in High Point NC now, we rent our house out for furniture market so basically our renters pay for our vacation.
So here is run down who is going. Chip (me) 30 year old DW Veteran [I would put down how many times I have been there but there isn’t enough lines in my sig for that] my wife (29) and our wee lass Zoe who just turned 9 months.
This is Zoe's first time so I am kinda inexperienced at planning this type of trip. Mere and I are pretty commando, the last time we went we did 4 parks in 2 days and rode almost all the rides. So any help that anyone can offer for a little one is most appreciated.
We are visiting Orlando from March 25th - April 1st. We are staying at the Mystic Dunes Resort. We got a sweet deal from a friend $300 for 1 week. Can’t beat that.
March 25th - After a 12 hr drive from HP to my parents in Safety Harbor we going to check in and relax on our first day. Hit up the Wal-Mart for supplies for the week, and maybe eat dinner at Cha Cha Checkers.
Please note I have already made prior reservations for the character meals.
Also the reason I picked those parks is because it is the day after EMH so hopefully it won’t be as crowded. Nice little trick I learned from the DIS Boards.
March 26th - Breakfast @ Chef Mickey's @ 7:40a - then hit up Magic Kingdom. Not sure on what rides we are going to visit yet. I need to get some maps to plan the best route so we can get on some rides Zoe will like. Hang out at park till 11ish and head back to room for lunch and naps. Arrive back around 2ish, ride some more rides, and then Dinner @ Sweet Tomatoes..YUM!
March 27th - Breakfast @ Donald's Breakfastsaurus @ 8:50a, bust out on Animal Kingdom till around lunch, and take Zoe back to the room for a nap and hang out at the pool till dinner and hopefully work up a good appetite for dinner @ Ohana’s in the Polynesian Resort. Probably afterwards ride the monorails.
March 28th – Breakfast in our room this morning, maybe grab a Starbucks on the way to Epcot. Try to ride some rides with Zoe maybe do a parent swap or two. We like to walk the World Showcase and just stop somewhere for lunch. Something light and something we don’t get to eat everyday. We are gonna go commando this day and not go back to the room. Maybe hide out someplace in the shade and let Zoe sleep or play, we will see how that goes. Dinner will be @ Garden Grill @ 5:00p. I heard this is a good rib sticking place to eat.
March 29th – Breakfast in the room again, and I believe we are hitting up MGM today. At this point I am sure we will be getting tired, and I don’t think there is tons of stuff for Zoe here. I booked us dinner at Hollywood & Vine@ 5:00p Zoe isn’t really into JoJo’s Circus so that is why I opted for dinner. Muppets are her favorite so I wonder how 3d will look for her.
March 30th – Our final day at the parks, we are going back to MK. I booked us Breakfast @ The Crystal Palace @ 8:00a so we could get some photos of Zoe near the castle before the crowds show up. At this point we are probably exhausted so we may or may not go back to the room all I know is I gotta have some Rainforest Café before we depart Florida.
Saturday & Sunday will be left to recover from 5 days in the park. We have 6 day passes and if we feel like it we may go back but not likely.
Anyway that is our trip (Hopefully) I am an ub3r nerd who likes to plan things, and we love to eat! So we like to plan our trips accordingly. I know a lot of people do too...
Post your thoughts and let me know what you think of our itinerary, and any help or advice would be most appreciated.
I will post more information as i research it, also i will let everyone know how it went.
