Coming soon! Soarin' Around the World. What in the world do you want to see?

I could see doing both Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. In the Grand Canyon, soaring down through the canyon close to the river. A sight most don't see unless they are river rafting. Lake Powell would be cool too, with a fly through Rainbow Bridge.

Places in South America would be cool -- Angel Falls (inspiration for Paradise Falls in Up), Macchu Picchu, Rio de Janeiro and Christ the Redeemer statue. Africa would be awesome as well -- the Serengeti, Victoria Falls, Mount Kilimanjaro.. There are just so many possibilities.
Oh! I love the "Up" connection. Great idea!

There are so many amazing choices. I would love to learn more about the selection process and the politics behind the choices they made. I once heard on the disboards podcast that permission must be granted by the country of France to fly over the Eiffel tower, for instance, and that royalty fees would also have to be paid. Would some countries be more difficult to work with? Are some countries demanding a higher price than others? Will Disney pick monuments and natural landmakrs that are in countries with favored nation status? I imagine that the selection process must be as interesting, or more, as choosing the countries in Epcot for the World Showcase!

If it's closed late next June, I will embarrass my entire family and fall down weeping right in the middle of DCA.

Excited for the new theme!

Curious as to if it will follow any specific "geographical" map. (There's been some good suggestions in this thread, so I'm curious as to how well it will flow.

While Soarinn' California does take some liberties, it does somewhat follow a path from NoCal to Socal, then ends up in Disneyland.

I'm curious which Disney park it will end it's journey in now that's it's going all over the world.

I don't remember where I read it or how reliable the source is anyways but I read that the "ending" will be specific to the park you are in.

As much as I like the idea of Soarin' Around the World, I don't think it fits into the California theme. As for also being in Epcot I feel that works better since DisneyWorld is worldwide destination and next to World Showcase.

I'm guessing that it will be a park outside the US. Possibly Tokyo or Paris. Just as a tease to get more people thinking about going there.

Hopefully they don't change the DL ending to a park outside the US. I think that the best part of the DL Soarin attraction is seeing all the Christmas decorations and lights for the final scene.

Fjords or glaciers. Iceland with the northern lights. Niagara or Iguazu Falls. Rocky Mountains

Hmmm, wouldn't at least DL Paris (France is predominantly christian) have decorations on their castle?

I would prefer to see them change the movie at Epcot and leave the one at CA adventure alone, but I seem to be in the minority :)

I like when the attractions at both parks are similar without being carbon copies of one another.

It just seems logical to me - Epcot has the World Showcase so have a film that has you Soarin' over places around the world. California Adventure, and especially the newly imagined Grizzly Peak area, is a great place to highlight California's unique offerings so leave the film as Soarin' over California.

During Christmas, all the parks have a decorated castle & more!

There's Christmas Wishes at Tokyo Disneyland & in Hong Kong, there's Disney's Sparkling Christmas. (And there seems to be more lights at those resorts!)

Enchanted Christmas is at the Paris park.

I hope the last scene/location is California/Disneyland (and preferably, the holiday scene). It would make sense since the adventure/trip begins in Cali to end in Cali, it completes the story I would think they are trying to tell. It would be confusing to end in DL Paris or Tokyo considering we "board" in DCA, imo.
And ideally, a randomized sequence or destination would be great for Soarin. I'm not too thrilled to see the traditional one leave but I think I will enjoy the new one as well.

Do we know that the new trip does begin in California?
And even if so, I don't see why it would need to end there.
