Coming out of the Shadows

Just wanted to say hello and that this is one awesome place for info! I have been lurking for quite some time and getting some wonderful ideas and info and decided to come out of the shadows.

My family and I will be headed to the Fort the week of July 12. It will be our first trip during the summer in nearly 10 years. Not looking forward to the crowds or heat, but we will be at Disney and thus will have a good time!

I will also be making a Mickey Lamp Post before our trip as my DW has said we absolutely MUST have one!

Thanks again to everyone and I hope I can offer some of my own advice and help to others here as well!

Ah, the magnificent Mickey Lamp Post. You're a cool DH -- my guy just doesn't quite get the magic of the lamp post. Have a great trip!

We arrive on the 19th as well. Spending 6 days there. This trip is all about the Fort though. 1 day in the parks and relaxing the rest....after 30 some trips, we get to enjoy the fort.

I am a computer geek by trade and nature. Achenar was one of the evil sons in the computer game Myst from several years ago (excellent game, even today). Since several of the boards I frequent are also computer geek related, there usually is an Achenar already there. We are from South Mississippi and our domain name (another geek thing) is southernfamily.org so it just seemed natural to add "south" to a name I was interested in using.

We are AP holders and some flyer we got in the mail the other day....from Disney....showed a campsite WITH a Mickey Lamp Post in the picture!!

I love Disney but would not have put one together for me....but I get the Disney magic....and more importantly I get my DW's magic....for over 21 years now.
