Coming in "the back way" to Fort Wilderness

Can anyone tell me if there are any construction or other problems coming the back way into Fort Wilderness -- that is, getting off the turnpike early and coming in on 535 from the north instead of circling around to the east and south, then coming back through the main entrance?

Leaving tomorrow afternoon and we cannot wait!!!

Headed back to WDW that way in April after going to see Thomas the Train and there was nothing major at that time. Could be entirely different now.

I am curious about the back way to Ft. Wilderness. We absolutely hate to drive on I-4. Could you be very specific about how to get to Ft. Wilderness from the Florida Turnpike. My husband and I would be so grateful for the information!

We hate that I 4 drive too. So I'd like to hear how others go.

If you take the fl turnpike N or S to the Osceola Parkway and go west you will come to a toll plaza I call it the Disney Turnpike becouse it take right to 535 and then right in to disney it end at animal kingdom. Just look on a florida map for Osceola Parkway you will see.
