I've just found out that Easyjet are flying to CDG from Bristol after 29th October 2006, which is extremely good news for those of us in South Wales, just did a quick check and their prices are considerably lower than BA from Bristol. :thumbsup2

Figures that they start doing this AFTER I move from the South West. But on the plus side, BMI fly to CDG from Leeds so I'm still happy. I may have to squeeze in a few weekend trips now (any excuse)
But that is fab news for those that use bristol. All those £££ you're saving could add up to another trip!!!!

Thanks for the info.

Now I have two airports to choose from Exeter with Flybe and now Easyjet at Bristol.

Still might end up driving though.

Lucky you! I also wish they would fly from Aberdeen. We just came back on Saturday via Heathrow and this has really put my DH off flying at the moment. I cant even speak to him about our next trip.

A direct flight would make things soooo much easier for us but our only option from Aberdeen is Air France which costs tooooo much.

thanks for the info jill, wish i knew it was coming as we have booked for november from luton! :guilty:

we have done it before and its not a bad journey but it will be a bit rough driving past bristol on the way to luton! :wave2:

That's interesting news - as Chrismoo says give two airports to choose from.

From previous experiencing flying from Bristol has a habit of being cheaper then Exeter.

Good example - flying on December 19th, return 22nd December for 2 Adults and 2 Children:

Flybe - Depart 17:30, Return 20:40
Cost: £466.12

Easyjet - Depart 13:05, Return 15:55
Cost: £222.68 inc optional travel insurancce.

I admit the flights aren't at the same times, but these are the nearest equals.

Saving of £243

Thanks

Iain

This is great news as we always used to fly bmi from Cardiff and it was a good little flight before they discontinued it. Now we've discovered the tunnel though, I don't know if there's any going back!

joe/sam, we have always been put off the tunnel by the drive from south wales, how long does it take you?

Thats just great .We are flying flybe in Sept from Exeter. Next July we fly from Bristol to Sanford in Florida so to here this about Easyjet is just making my day better and better :cool1:.

It takes about 5 hours total Claire. We usually break the journey at the half way point with relatives in Swindon, so that makes it less painful. Bear in mind we're probably an hour more West than you, in Llanelli. From Calais it takes about 3 very simple hours to get to the resort.

We travel on it quite regularly now, not just for DLP so we're quite used to it, and you can't beat the convenience. If you arrive early, they usually put you on the next available train, and if you're late (up to 24hrs) it won't cost you anything, you'll just have to wait for the next availability. At approx £100 for the crossing, it usually works out cheaper than flying too.

And another benefit (IMHO!) is that Easyjet use Terminal 3 at CDG rather than Terminal 1 which makes for a far less stressful beginning and end to the holiday!!! :)
