I need some black office casual shoes. I'm on my feet for 12 hours most days and I have high arches and wide feet. I don't like anything too flat. I usually feel better with a little bit of a raised sole. I wear Merrels as my casual shoes in the winter so I looked to see what they had, but didn't like the options. Can anyone make a recommendation please?

Not cute, and not too budget friendly unless there is an outlet near you, but Dansko. I am a nurse, on my feet for 12 hours at a time and I swear by them. They run wide. They have great arch support and aren't flat. They are European sizes.

I think some of them are cute. I guess I'm a dork! I wish they were available through shoebuy.com. I'm off to see if I can buy them elsewhere online. Thanks!

I second the recommendation for Danskos. I work on my feet (concrete floors) all day and love my Danskos. They really do help with fatigue and are comfy. They do take a bit of getting used to, but so worth it. I got my last pair at 6pm.com and paid just under $40 for a pair that retails at the local shoe place for over $115.

The fit is different, so you may want to go to your local shoe store and try them on. I always write down the style and size that feel/fit the best and then order them online.

Another vote for the Dansko's...
I'm also a nurse (and I guess another dork, since I also think some of them
are very cute :) )

I wear these most days for work.

And I'm a high maintance visual design fashionista. princess: They have total arch support, they don't look like sneakers either. I'm all about if I'm doing sneakers, they have to fit the look deliberately.

I have horrible tendonitis in my ankles, and when I wear these I have no problems.

I jsut got a p/t job where I am on my feet for the whole 4 hours a day ( lunch lady at school) My friend talked me into getting the dansko and they are the BEST!!!

I was in such pain my first two weeks of work standing on the tile floor.

I don't know a single fashionista who would wear these to work, much less the laundromat. :confused3 Somehow I don't think these would match my Prada handbag. ;)

Believe it or not they work under super wide leg pants where all you see is the toes. :rotfl: Hours upon hours of running in ballet flats causes more pain than one could possibly imagine.

Granted I'm also a 5'5" girl with size 12 feet--I gave up on having shoes be my most fashionable asset years ago.

Thanks for all the help! I ordered a pair of the Dansko Phoebe last night. I don't have time to go to the store to try them on, so I hope they work. The online store had free shipping and free exchanges. If they're comfortable and last longer than 4 months than they'll be worth the money--$115. I liked that the little video next to the shoe's picture mentioned the comfort of course, but also that this model was good for high insteps. I was drawn to them because they looked a little nicer than the plain clogs.

I recently discovered Clarks shoes. My foot doctor recommended mules and I need good arch support. The Clarks shoes are about as professional looking and fashionable as I've been able to find in shoes that feel good on my feet. Many, but not all, of their shoes are clogs. I also have a nice pair of pumps.

I formerly wore NAOT shoes. They feel wonderful, but, well, the are ugly and it was hard for me to pay $150 for ugly shoes. Also they wore out more quickly than I would want for such expensive shoes. I can usually find Clarks on a good sale at Macy's. There is an outlet in Reading, PA, too, which makes me think there might be other Clarks outlets around the country.

LOL! :lmao: I was thinking the same thing, but didn't have the guts to say it! :worship:

Oh my. You've definitely got a firm foundation! You seem to have made peace with it, which is always a plus. Most all of us have something we're not crazy about, even Megan Fox (her thumbs).
