Okay, I thought it would be best if I asked this question to others with my same problem. I know I can just barely walk when I get back to the hotel at night after a long day at Disney. Has anyone found any comfy shoes to help? Man, I would love a miracle pair!:wave2:

Here's what I learned from these Boards...;) Take TWO pairs of shoes/sandals with you and, switch everyday. Definately, break them in BEFORE you go, too.

Last time I went, I brought Teva sandals and Easy Spirit walking shoes. I use the Easy Spirit's now for exercising.

I managed to survive 8 days/7 nights with this method and, we only did parks the whole time! WDW & USF/IOA!!! It worked for me! :sunny:

I swear by my Merrells! I could wear them every day, and when I'm in the World, I try to. I wear them every day to nanny in, and they are great for running around. They may be spendy, but they are worth their weight in gold. Give them a try! (I have the sandals, but I hear similar about the shoes)

I have two pairs that I will always keep with me now:

My teva sandals..the pair with the rubber type bottem..not the cheapest one..they are wonderful. You can find them at Sports authority.

Also..my Ryka crosstrainer's...they are made for women's feet adn they are excellent. I have been buying the same style over and over for years now. I find these at lady footlocker. There were also two styles at the DSW shoe store last week.

I love my TEVA Kinetic Walking Sandals - VERY UGLY - but EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE! Also I swear by my Adidas sneakers The ones I have are the ozweego model classic walk/run sneaker lightwgt I love them!

the links below are for visually only - I actually got me sandals at Sierra trading post(3rd link) for $39.99 over a year ago - the site has high quality stuff - but its hit or miss with their selection at any given time. My Adidas I got at Famous Brand Shoes Store.

I love that word, spendy!!!

I do the switch between two pairs thing, too. I have several well worn in pairs of walking shoes, and these seem to work the best for me in the parks.

I have one GREAT pair of walking shoes, but they're a little heavier than the others. I quit taking them, because, although my feel feel great at the end of the day, my LEGS get achy due to the extra weight!

I switch between my Nike walking sandals and New Balance sneakers. I never have any problems with my feet wearing either of these shoes. Very comfortable - can walk forever.

I made sure to wear really good sneakers. I like new balance, and those new Reebok DMX walking shoes are awesome. The extra cushioning in the new balance cross trainer helps me enormously.

If I wear a sneaker instead of a sandal my feet don't swell as much.

You guys actually wear sandals to the parks? Wow. I guess they must be very comfy ones! I could never do that. I usually wear this silver pair of Adidas' (the last 2 times), and I just got a new pair of Saucony's, which is my mom's favorite comfy brand. She doesn't seem to have the feet pain though, that I do. Hmmph.
And Merrells? I've never heard of them.
Thanks for all the advice!

Individuals have different feet. What works for one person won't necessarially work for another.

I think the best way to approach this is to go to one of those mall stores that sells a lot of different brands of walking/running shoes. Spend some time trying on several different pairs from each manufacturer until you find one the feels really comfortable as soon as you put it on.

All done? No!! Now buy them and actually wear them around the house for an entire day. Walk some extra distance. How do they feel now? Still OK? Great, wear them a few more days to break them in fully before your trip.

I do tennis shoes in the morning and sandals in the afternoon/evening. Both are made for walking. My most expensive shoes I own are always my sandals - a good pair is essential. Right now I have leather tevas. I can find other shoes on sale or at discount places but I won't skimp on a sandal - I've learned that lesson!

I think the biggest thing is "training" before you go by talking long walks in the same shoes you will be wearing. I made my kids train too before our trip!
