Comfort suites or Hilton?? MIA

Booked the Hilton Blue Lagoon, but just checked the Comfort Inn and Suites Miami International and it’s half the cost. We arrive at 6pm, so won’t have much time to enjoy the Hilton. Anyone have any input on either? I basically just want a nice clean hotel room since I’ll be there for 13 hours, tops.

I booked the Hilton bc of the pool and I heard the poolside dining was decent, but learned they stop serving dinner out there at 6.

I have stayed at the Hilton Blue Lagoon but it was 4 years ago.
The hotel was nice. The "Lagoon" was cool to look at. However, since covid, IMHO Hiltons in general have taken a lot way in the way of services. Just my observation from random Hilton properties.

As far as the Comfort INN, I have never stayed there, can't say I ever will

Check airport Embassy. That is our favorite in MIA area. Shuttle to port is $8pp. Note that their free airport shuttle is hit or miss but local cab is around $16. Bar has a decent steak that is big enough to share and cooked breakfast is good. We were there in November and will be back in a few weeks.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn on Jan 2 before our cruise. It was okay. They are so short staffed that everything seems to be a bit of a challenge. The front desk had one person trying to check people and answer phones. The room looked clean on the surface. We opened dresser drawers and found old food and wrappers. It was worse under the bed. The rooms are kind of beaten down. We stay at Hilton Garden Inns whenever we can and are used to that level of cleanliness and service. I guess it would be okay for 13 hours but that would be my limit. They are doing the best they can.

The recent tripadvisor reviews scared me off of the Comfort Inn & Suites. I cancelled our reservation and switched to the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon for $25 more.

Remember you can always use GrubHub/Doordash for dinner if your hotel restaurant is closed or no restaurants are in walking distance. (I always forget because it is faster and cheaper for us to do the pickup ourselves.)

We avoid all Comfort Inns, as someone else said, we find they generally just not as clean and often dated. Its been awhile since we stayed in MIA near the airport, some of the lower end brands are in neighborhoods I would avoid

We just stayed at the Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon in Miami. It was fine. The elevators could do with a refresh but our room was clean and quiet. There is a Pollo Tropical just down the street for great Cuban takeout chicken and pork and there are several fast food joints within 2 minutes walk. There are also Walgreens, CVS, Publix and a liquor store all within a 2 minute walk. The airport shuttle was handy.

I prefer the La Quinta in Miami. You basically just need a bed for the night and a place to park your car if you are driving

I don’t know about those but we have booked the Pullman, which looks great and reasonably priced.
