I need to get one night added to my reservation. I originally booked the Maingate on W Irlo Bronson Highway in March for only $37 a night. I need one more night which I can book for about $52 as we're flying out the night before. My question is, Should I cancel the whole thing and book the 6 nights at Comfort Suites Maingate East? It would cost about $75 for the 6 nights. I keep hearing such good things about this place. Is the location that much better and how about the breakfast? Are they the same? I know most people probably have only tried one or the other, just not sure what to do!
By the way, we're only planning 2 days Disney, 2 Universal and 1 Seaworld.
I'm also wondering about the gameroom in both hotels. Are they small or large and how crowded. I have teenage boys.

Hi Linda!

I have not stayed at either, but I have a reservation at the Comfort Suites Maingate East for May. I have read many reviews and pretty much all are very favourable. Please go to www.hotelmartusa.com for rates. (both hotels are available there) Then go to www.choicehotels.com and make the reservation through them. They have an internet guarantee and will match your internet rate PLUS give you 10% off!!! I have done this myself as I was tipped by another poster.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

PS, if you stay there, I would love to know how your stay in March goes!

I did do exactly as you stated yesterday. This is how I found the great price on Maingate East. Originally I hadn't seen it for less than $80 anywhere. It would now only cost me an extra $75 with the 10% off. I really am interested if the breakfast is the same at both places, which location is better and curious about the game rooms. If they're about the same, I'll just book the extra night I need at Maingate and forget about cancelling and moving to Maingate East. If anyone has this information, I'll be thankful.

I do remember seeing a game room at maingate east location, it is also adjacent to old town so depending on ages of your kids, they may be able to walk over there. also there is a mini golf place right out front the hotel. The staff at maingate east was very nice. They kept the continental breakfast buffet well stocked. If I remember correctly, the other location you are talking about is older & not as well kept. Also, maingate east has quite a few choices of decent restaurants for teenagers close by. We like ponderosa buffet & there is also a pizza hut as well as a checkers burger joint. on weekends, there is always a classic car "parade" at old town, might be fun for the boys.

Personally, I would cancel & stay at maingate east for the entire duration instead of having to pack & go to another location.

sorry, I live in FL & have my car & always drive no matter what park I go to. I hate shuttles & busing + I've been to orlando so many times I know my way around & shortcuts, etc.

Thanks for the information. I wasn't considering one night, then moving. I probably wrote too fast. Right now I have 5 nights booked at Comfort Suites Maingate on Irlo Bronson Highway. After making my airfare, we decided to fly out the night before to have the full 5 days in Florida. So, I need one more night. I was either going to just add one night to my reservation, which I got cheap, 5 nights for $218 total. That would add about $50 at this time. My other choice was to cancel the 5 nights I have booked now, and book all 6 nights at Maingate East for about $345 total. It would cost $77 extra for the 6 nights at East, but I keep hearing such good things that I was thinking of switching. They both get excellent reviews on tripadvisor.

My family stayed at Comfort Suites ME and really enjoyed it.
I have two teenage boys, and they liked the game room and swimming pool. We could see Old Town out of our window. This place has carnival type rides and games. Also, have old car shows on weekends. The Pirate Putt-Putt golf is right in front of the parking area. Breakfast buffet was very good, with lots of choices. We were located close to many restraunts, and a grocery store. Centra-care is also just down the street.
The drive usually took us approx ten minutes to get to the parks. Universal took us a little longer. Hope this helps!

Hi deirdrefitch!

So you found the shuttle to be fine?

Did you get to Universal before the gates opened?

Thanks for your info!
