Sorry title worng Feb 2007 stay

I normally shy away from the Choice Hotel chain but this was a last minute trip, I was desperate and the reviews from the DIS were good.:thumbsup2 And it met my "hot spots": interior corridors, no pets allowed and non smoking rooms available.

This property is adjacent to Old Town. I had a two queen bed suite. The refrigerator was a nice sized dorm style fridge and the microwave appeared clean. Only issue with the microwave is that it is in a top cabinet over the counter area and being vertically challenged at under five feet tall it would have been a pain for me to use it. Bathroom was large and clean. Plenty of soap, shampoo, etc in bathroom.

The room, as promised on the DIS, was clean and in good repair. I travel with my lysol and unlike some hotels where I have felt the need to empty the whole can--I just touched on the noraml stuff (remotes, phones, etc). My only issue: The a/c unit blew the curtains away from the window when it was blowing. Tossed an extra pillow onto the ledge and that problem was solved.

Breakfast: both days: donuts, mini pastry, cereal, apples, oranges, bananas, packets of instant oatmeal and grits, regular waffles, Mickey head waffles and CHOCOLATE Mickey head waffles. On the hot buffet: Sat: scrambled eggs, sausage, grits. Sunday: hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and sausage gravy for biscuits. Only issue: cups for juice were small--about two swallows. We just took the water cups (paper) from our room to use.

Staff: Absolutely on par with Disney service!!!!!!!! From the front desk to security to the porter. Nice people, great attitudes and absolutely wonderful.

Nearby: Old Town. Saturday night was the famous car cruise. Arrived back from WDW to see cars EVERYWHERE---in the grass, on medians, anywhere there was space!!! Was concerned that the parking lot at the hotel would be full---no worries. They must patrol the lot really well, plenty of parking. No noise from Old Town crept into the room. Also--was poolside (our window looked directly to the pool) and did not hear any noise from the pool either.

Pirates Cove mini golf: Directly in front of hotel. Let DGS play both courses. They have a special play again rate of $4.00 for the second course.

I would stay here again but think the $75.00 per night I paid was the limit for price. I would not pay more for this property.

Hello

great to hear good things from the Hotel. We will stay there in September for 23 Days and we picked that Hotel because we hear only good things about that place on many Sites on the Net.

My Question is : Do you use the shuttle service to Disney , or do you Know how often the busses will go. We have a rental Car for our stay, but we want to safe the parking Fees.

The other Question seems to be a little sick but it´s important for us. Do you know how many TV Channels they have ?

:happytv:

thank You

We drove so had our car. I would pay the $10 per day and just drive. I have not heard too many compliments on any shuttle service from the hotels plus if you decide to park hop then you have to wait for the Disney transport. We tried the bus from EPCOT to AK one day and I just felt like the time waiting for the buses was "park time". Once you pay ONCE at a park you can hop to any other park that day and NOT pay again. Just be sure to save your parking voucher/ticket.

Didn't pay much attention to the tv channels--it had Disney and Nick so grandson was happy. We really literally were in the room to sleep only.

We stayed at Comfort Inn LBV and it was a nice hotel for the money. Clean rooms and it had a breakfast buffet every morning and a supper buffet in the evenings. I would stay at this hotel again.

Thanks for the great review, Belle1962. One can never read too many good reviews!!!

Well, we stayed here for 3 weeks. I can't fault the place. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and there was plenty of space for my family of 5.

Breakfast was lovely and there was always enough variety to not get bored.

We had a poolside room and never had any noise issues from either the pool, Old Town or the 192.

There are laundry facilities on every floor ~ 4 quarters for a wash, the same for a dry.

We had our hire car so can't help with shuttles ~ personally I wouldn't stay offsite without a car.

The only negative ~ the lifts can get very busy and are slow ~ so we often just used the stairs.

Staff were very friendly and helpful ~ when my DD's white husky bought in Canada at Epcot went off on an adventure to the laundrette with the hotel sheets they did their upmost to retrieve him, luckily mission was accomplished successfully!!! :rotfl:

We will definitely return here again. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks for the recent review! Glad you had a great stay. Three weeks is a long time so I am sure you got to know the hotel quite well, lucky you!
