Comfort Station Damage

Mornin everyone.
This just sickens me. Late last night my husband went to take a shower. 11pm. We are in the 800 loop. In the men's shower area someone decided it was a brilliant idea to close 2 of the shower doors and proceed to kick them open from the inside. 2 doors were broken and you could not enter unless you climbed under. The doors were cracked all the way across and shards of the door were everywhere.
No one in their right mind would have done this.
We reported this immediately and security came out.
I know we all come here to get away and not have to neighborhood watch or police the grounds.
Correct me if I'm wrong but we are seeing more and more rule breaking. Under age kids riding carts, skate boards, golf carts in areas where they should not be.
I spoke to a CM this morning and she enlightened me that this weekend they received the most complaints for loud music after quiet time, kids out past quiet time and excessive golf cart issues.
I'm not on a soap box, just being informative.

I long for the old days when rules were more strictly enforced, and things were happier. Vandalism, for whatever reason is in another class. I hope the perps are caught and prosecuted. Keep the Fort safe and fun for those who choose to live within the rules.

It has some to do with lack of rule enforcement, and a lot to do with how they are raised. People don't respect like they used to. Disney doesn't want to upset customers, so rules aren't enforced as they should be. This goes on everywhere though. Just sad is what it is.

I know the theme of Management and Cast Members is to make a Disney stay magical and to rarely say an unkind word to a guest. But things have gotten a little out of hand and that message is missing the mark.

Whenever it comes to personal safety, personal property, or the impact on others, Disney needs to enforce the rules. I think golf cart issues are the worst. As an "innkeeper" under Florida law, WDW has the right to evict a guest immediately with the help of the Orange County Sheriff department (if the guest is inclined to try to stay).

The guest would also go onto a "not allowed to stay" list for some period of time.

When is the management for the WL/Fort (under the same GM I believe) going to get a clue?

I get that Disney doesn't want to upset a guest if they can avoid it, but I wish they would realize if they took a stand with rule-breaking guests they might lose those guest, but would gain/keep a number of other guests that would appreciate Disney's enforcement of the rules.

It is not just at FW. This weekend we stayed at a GA state park. There was a 10 year old throwing rocks at my car. His parents were at their site at the other end of the park and had sent him to play in the play ground, even though there was a large sign stating children under 16 must be supervised bu an adult.

The kid told his parents it was a misunderstanding...he was merely tossing the rocks in the air. A) I saw him throw the rock at the car B) I heard the resulting "thud" C) why was he in my campsite anyway (twice, since he came back after I chased him off the first time!).

I found out later that the same kid rode his bike up to a lady walking her dog and told her she had better move out of his way!

Now the laundry rooms are key access because of ripping the money changer off the wall. Now what key access for the comfort stations all the time???

Ya just gotta wonder, why do these type of people even want to or bother to go to places like Disney or a park or campground,ETC. And IF it's done by juvenile delinquency, then why aren't the parents keep'n a eye on their little low lifes ??? I was a kid once myself (believe it or not) and I was /am a parent,,we ALL know when our offspring are angels or brats that need to be kept onna leash. Most of the time (not always) I think the parents are half at fault.
Just my opinion.

You hit on the key point. The parents know their kids are little darlings and would never do anything like that. (Despite the brat coming back with pieces of the door embedded in their shoes)

Yep, you are right. I can't believe how out of control some of the kids are.

Ugh, that's my favorite loop and I was just there two weeks ago. This sickens me to no end as well! I'd expect that kind of crap at inexpensive campground, but at the fort with the rates you have to pay to stay there you'd think you would get a classier and more well behaved group of people. But, like my husband has said over and over every time we go to Disney, "it seems people just come here and are in some sort of daze and don't pay attention to their kids when they are here." I know I had to police a youngster about 5 or 7 years old that kept riding his scooter in the road and every time some one tried to back into their site, there he was right in the road in the way. I hated doing it, but someone had to say something or I guess I could have just let him get run over...seems his parents didn't care.
Very sad....very sad indeed.

Here is the odd part.. The shower stalls are not fixed yet. It's too bad. Nightly we hear men leaving the comfort station complaining of not only the stalls left filthy but noting the damage. We've been making a point to tell people CALL!
The house phone is right there! Unfortunately too many just shrug and walk away.

this is sooo true.

When my wife and I were first married years back and pleasure island was new we went over there one night. We were enjoying ourselves walking down the street and some guy started a fight like 20 feet away from us by talking inappropriately to another guys girlfriend/wife.. Before i could blink there were like 10-12 security folks on him. It made me feel great that you could go there and it wasn't like a regular nightclub - that if someone got out of hand they handled it instantly. It was awesome.

So they lost a customer in the jerk talking smack but instead everyone around thought it was great. I used to tell my friends and family how awesome PI was and use that as an example.

sadly the parents are all wusses now a days and afraid to tell their little punks to settle down. You see it all the time. I cringe with how poorly behaved some of my kid's peripheral friends behave. My one kid plays "up" on his sports team on occasion. You would think the better kids would be better sports and respect the game, officials, opponents, etc more - nope there are more poor sports in the better teams. It's just a mess.

Sadly it's not just Disney. DH and I bought into a private campground. They put up a beautiful play structure that kids/teens keep trying to wreck. There is a sign that says no children under 12 unless accompanied by a child over 16 and still there's kids all the time w/ no on watching them.
It wasn't cheap to buy in and there is some real "winners" there camping right now.
It is sad to hear that about the bathroom doors being kicked in. You'd like to thing Disney would be immune to that type of thing
