We will be staying at comfort maingate east this summer. my questions are;
What are some good places to eat in that area, that are in walking distance?
How are the shuttles, do you have to make reservations to take them?
Is old town in walking distance? I know it says next door but my idea of nest door may be a different idea.
Is there a Lynx bus stop near by?
We are not sure we want to rent a car. I know most people say rent, but renting a car is not something we are sure we want to do. I hear there is alot of construction in that area. We get lost real easy in construction area if we do not know where we are going.
Thanks for any help you can give us.

I have not stayed at this hotel but I have read many different positive reviews about it and know its' fairly new. If you would like to read first-hand about other's experiences, then you can do a search at the bottom of this board (orlando hotels and attractions) by typing in 'comfort suites maingate east'.

I have stayed nearby at another hotel close to it and I do know that it is indeed within walking distance to 'Old Town' so getting there won't be a problem at all. Also, there are many different kinds of great family restaurants that have various price ranges/menus located nearby where you are staying as well. The hotel website lists all of the theme parks where they transport guests and it is www.comfortsuites-orlando.com in case you don't have it.

If you decide to do a search, you may read about other people mentioning their experience with riding the shuttle buses. If I recall, I think at least one person did take advantage of the shuttle service and found it very pleasant. Also, I don't think that the Lynx bus service operates along that route because all the times I have been down I don't remember seeing them at all in this area but you can check to see if they do at www.golynx.com

I don't think you will need to make reservations to ride your hotel's shuttle bus but to be safe, it it probably best to ask ahead of time. Most hotels that I have read about have schedules of their shuttle services made available to guests upon check-in so they'll know which 'days' it travels to each 'park' along with the times of pick-up and drop off. So, guests will know what time/day to arrive in the lobby area or out in front of the entrance (whichever the hotel specifies) to catch a ride and likewise they'll know when to expect it back at the park to get them.

Also, the website for Old Town is www.old-town.com in case you want to check it out too; I hope you have a great trip!
