Has anyone every stayed at the COmfort INN Lake Buena Vista? We always stay on property, but my daughter is going with her choir and that is where they are staying. I am going to fly down to hear them sing, and am thinking of staying there too. I will be a solo female, and while I always feel safe staying on Disney property, and I am not so sure about this, as I will be ina room alone, and will be staying one day alone, as the kids have to drive back and I will fly (24 hour drive)

Any info about the hotel or comments from those who have stayed there will be appreciated.

If it is not a recommended hotel, I could stay at DIsney, and meet the group in the parks.

I stayed there years ago. From a safty point I don't recall anything special. It is gated, but the rooms have outside corridor access.

I think it has improved since I have stayed there, but I found the front desk to be incredibly rude and they seemed to have NO idea how to do thier jobs. (One of those is bad, both is a disaster!)

We stayed there in 2004. While it's not bad, it's not very good either. Everything was just (big sigh) ok. Although I did find the shuttles to be particulary bad.

When I had asked before reserving if there was bus service, was told yes. I didn't think to ask how often, my mistake. Always staying on site, I was used to every 15-20 min for a bus. Not here, the buses only run at certain times, like 3 runs in the morning to go, 3 or 4 in the evening. Miss that time, you're out of luck. No big deal you say, I'll get there in time. Weeeelllllll, that bus picking you up is also picking up a bunch of other hotels and when it got to ours it was usually full. Many times I saw people turned away, which means they had to wait till the next bus came, about 2 hours from then.

Going back in the evenings I can only describe as a own little personal h***l. You're told to meet in the bus parking lot at a certain numbered space. You get there to find a long line already there waiting(and this is almost 45 min. before the bus is due) and then only ONE bus comes for something like 200 people. Driver says he'll TRY to get another bus out here, can't guarantee it , if not he'll be back after he drops off these people. That's like another hour wait, in a parking, sitting on the ground in line ,with 3 tired kids, 2 exhausted parents at the end of a very long day. OMG, it was awful.

Ended up taking a bunch of taxis that trip, could've rented a super sized cargo van after all the $ we spent on taxi's. Do yourself a favor and rent a car!!!

I will NEVER EVER stay off site again.

Thanks for the imput. I always rent a car, even when I stay on site. We ususally go for about 10 days, and do things in Orlando as well as Universal, so a car comes in handy.

As the two reviews are not so positive, I think I will go with my first impulse and stay on property. My daughter has a cell phone, so I am sure we can hook up when we need to. Some of the time her and the choir will be in workshops, and I will not be traveling on their bus from the hotel to and from disney, so what does it matter. (altho my daugher made a sad face when I originally told her I would stay on property, and said "no fair"). I mean, as close as we are(widow and she is my only child-age 17- and disney is our bonding spot), I don't think she will really want to hang out with me at the hotel when there are 44 kids going.

I had no complant about the hotel. Although bring back my memory about the return with the shuttle. You had to wait! I really like staying on sight because you do not have to go to the DUMB transportation center. One time at cmft at LBV We rode the shuttle early in the morn. I was 6 mnth preg. I had a 1 1/2 year old and my dd 8 dd 4 and dh. We had to stand. I could not hold on My husband could barely hold my 1 and 1/2 year old. Then they go to the next hotel and pick up more. Mind you this was the beginig of OCT. :earsgirl: :earsboy: 4 princess: princess: princess: princess:

I've stayed there about 4 times and will be staying there again this May. I like it since it is very close to DTD and the parks. Plus, you can't find a hotel that is that close and yet pay so little ($50-$70).

We stayed there about 4 years ago. A lot can happen in that time, but at the time I found it to be acceptable. When we were there, we found the front desk staff to be very nice but not really willing to do anything extra. My main problem with the front desk area was being accosted by time-share salespeople every time you went into the lobby. We did not use the shuttles so I can't comment on those. I felt very safe while staying there, but I was not alone. On the positive side, our room was very clean on arrival and very well kept during our stay. There was a little convenience store on site which came in handy a couple of times and my kids enjoyed the pool area. Of course I also realized that we had a pretty good deal ($65 a night for one of their family suites) so I was more willing to overlook some things than I would be if I had been paying more. :earsgirl:

I remember my other problem here. My room was on the end on the interstate side and I could hear the trucks all night.

I would stay there again but I wouldn't pay $50, I figure $40 is good!

We stayed there is 2002. I don't remember feeling unsafe, but there are outside corridors. It was clean and we really didn't have much trouble with the shuttles. We were there early and were one on the first in line. We had no problem getting a seat. They do stop at other hotels. We only paid 35.oo a night through Hotel Kingdom. We were just so happy to be there I think it would of taken a major disaster to rock our boat.

Whereever you stay enjoy!!!!

Our High School Band will be going and marching down Mainstreet May 24th 2005. I understand the excitement of just being there to perform. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Oh yes you can, Use a code and stay on site at a value for less :)

The Comfort Inn may be a sign that things are picking up in the Orlando hotel business. Yesterday's "Special" on thier sign was $79! (There is NO WAY I am paying $79 for that hotel!)

I'm staying there at the end of May and I got a rate of $59 per night.

It's your basic ho-hum motel. With SOOO many other options in that area, you can do better for the same price.
