hi!
my DH and i just stayed at the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. we were there from 4/20 - 4/25. i've read plenty of reviews before my trip and they were pretty mixed. I just wanted to give my perspective.
Now, i've never stayed on site and i could never afford one of those moderate or deluxe resorts so i don't have that kind of hotel to compare it to. i'm used to staying off site to stay on budget. We took Mears transportation to the hotel from the airport. The hotel has 4 buildings with 5 stories and the lobby in the middle. the landscaping was beautiful. the rooms are all facing outside and it was nice that way since we had the 5th floor and had a great view. The weather was absolutely beautiful our whole trip! There were never kids running around outside making loud noises. when we stayed it was a nice quiet hotel.
I've read reviews about not staying in a room that faced I4. When we got there we got a room facing that highway because they didn't have any available. It actually wasn't bad at all. Of course we heard the highway noise during the day. but when we slept at night we had the AC on since it was so warm and didn't hear the traffic at all. We also were able to check in at 12 instead of 3 since our flight was early and there was no problem with that.
There were several places to eat. There is the Comfort Bar and Grille( which we didn't eat at)a dinner buffet and a continental breakfast. We had the continental breakfast each morning to try to save money. The breakfast had coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice and milk, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, toast, donuts and fruit cocktail. It was just what we needed. they did have a hot breakfast but that was pretty pricey. We had the dinner buffet the last night for 12.95. That wasn't bad. there was quite a bit of food but the quality was just okay.
Throughout our stay the room was always clean. never any issues with that. There was also a fridge and microwave. the first night our lamp bulb was dead. They had a maintenence request form in the room that we filled out and left in the morning and it was fixed when we came back after a day at the parks.
we also used the free shuttle to the parks. the driver was very nice and they were always on time. The shuttle does fill up but there was always room. they will take you to all the parks and also downtown disney and universal. once you get on property you can also take the disney transportation.
If there is anything that i forgot to mention let me know. any questions feel free to ask!
