Come join my pity party. Bring pixie dust and some perspective to share. *UPDATE #86*

City Hall was nice but there wasn't much help except to say that maintenance walks through the ride after it shuts down. I tried to explain that walking through will not help because I believe the phone is still right where I dropped it, under the "scissors point" where the vehicle door hinges close. It will not be visible unless someone looks UNDER the vehicles. Who is going to get down and look under every vehicle? Not. I desperately tried to get someone to identify the number or ID of my vehicle, but no one would help. I just don't understand why they won't call my phone after the ride shuts down and listen for the ringtone ("Under the Sea" for the 5 year old I am traveling with, LOL!)
I am seriously considering your suggestion to be at Buzz at 1:00 AM. I am at BLT, so certainly doable. It would be so nice to have the phone to finish the Flat Stanley project that started this whole mess!

Jean, I'm sending pixie dust your way! :wizard: I don't think you need to be embarrassed. We all know that in the grand scheme of life, phones aren't important; however, it doesn't discount the disappointment that this happened either. We are ALL so dang dependent on these pieces of technology, so we can all understand the frustration. I especially would be frustrated that you knew right when it happened, yet no one would even tell you your vehicle number. I understand them not stopping the ride, but at least make your car identifiable for later.

If it helps, my mom once lost her sunglasses on the Matterhorn at Disneyland. When she explained what happened, the CMs told her to come back at park close. She told the closing CM what happened. When they walked the track they found her glasses (and several other pairs) and brought them out. She picked hers out and the rest went to Lost and Found. Perhaps you'll have luck at 1:00. I'm hopeful for you! Please report back and let us know how it turns out!

And I totally agree about locking it. You can remotely lock it and have it display a number to call you at if found. Or you can erase it all together remotely.

If I were you, I would be the LAST person in line at 1am - and ask the CM's nicely if they will let the ride cycle through ONE TIME with you standing there by the control panel calling your phone endlessly until THAT ride vehicle passe you by. You can tell them that you won't cross the yellow line, but when the vehicle comes around, and you hear the phone ringing ask them to stop the ride so someone can retrieve the phone for you!

There is no reason why they shouldn't do this - you aren't risking anything, and the ride is making one complete trip around - that's it!

I'm sure if you ask them nicely, they will be willing to do this for you! If they don't... tell Mickey!

Certainly hope you get your phone back. I just have a 3gs and would be lost without that!

Great idea.

Hey 1AM is only midnight at home. :thumbsup2

I'm trying to reach my son, he is a CM at MK tonite, working the front gates, I've sent him a text. I'm sure he'll try and help you if he sees my text and he's still working:wizard:.

here's some pixiedust: AND st anthony (can't hurt, right? :))

i've found quite a few items over the years (mostly cameras). we bring them directly to L&F in the given park (else, the guest might very well be on their way home by the time the item lands at L&F).
btw, we were a bit dumbfounded about the way L&F operates. when a group came into EPCOT L&F b/c they had lost sunglasses, no description was offered or asked for. a big box was brought out for them to rifle through (full of dollar store glasses, as well as pricey raybans, oakleys, etc). the CM placed the box on the counter, and walked away...the box was put away a while after the group found a pair (hopefully, theirs) and left - not one question asked :confused3

i hope you haven't updated only because you went back at 1AM, they returned your phone, and now you are very, very tired :)
else, be the squeaky wheel - all it takes is finding that one CM to help.
good luck, jean, and hope the rest of your trip is blissfully uneventful :goodvibes

No phone yet. We went to MK parade last night. I checked at Town Hall and I went back to Buzz. I spoke with a couple of CMs at Buzz who said that they would alert whoever was doing the shutdown. I made the decision not to stay until 1:00 AM, maybe not smart but I felt it would be selfish to mess up the whole night for the rest of our group.
I didn't sleep that well and I checked the status of my phone during the night. About 1:00 it was still in the same place at Buzz and still ringing. About 1:20 it was offline so I am hoping that it was found and turned off (someone told me that they turn off lost phones to preserve battery--not helpful in my case because it prevents tracking). So I am hoping that it was found and will show up at Lost and Found. Because of the timing it could be still at MK or at central Lost and Found. If I understand the Find my iPhone app, I think I will get an email if it is turned on again, in which case I should be able to tell if it is in safe hands. It could be that the battery is dead and it is in an inaccessible place.
I just knew that posting here would make me feel better. I can't say "THANKS" enough to all of you for your advice and good wishes. Yes I am addicted to having a phone and that's not good but I did make contact with some really great people---YOU!---and that is a very good thing. :thanks::thanks::thanks:

I agree also. I doubt they'll leave it under there.... it's bound to come out at some point. Keep pursuing this and good luck. Someone will listen.

I am so sorry this happened. :sad1: That's alot of money. Please keep us up to date.

At least central L&F is only a 1 min monorail ride away from BLT. Worth checking.

I was up late last night thinking about you. We are here also, staying over at BCV, and I went online this am hoping to hear good news.

More prayers your way!!! :goodvibes

Wow that must be so frustrating to see it tracked on your iPad and have no one retrieve it for you. Hope it turned out well!

Thanks for all the good wishes. Sad to say I just came from Lost and Found and no iPhone. Life has its bumps and there are thousands of people walking around WDW today with far bigger bumps to navigate. Still, I was hoping....

Dang. We lost an iphone there last month as well. Never showed anywhere including L&F, but we only new 3 places it could have happened so not as frustrating as knowing right where its sitting. Plus it had a cracked screen so not as hard to lose-that and an upgrade was available.

Wanted to join your pity party Jean - hope you find it before you come home - if not, please enjoy the rest of your trip - I'm sure the kids are still having a wonderful time!:goodvibes
