I’m trying to see if anyone can help! My mom works for Comcast and she gets 4 tickets for universal that she was able to print out. She doesn’t want to go, but she’s letting my friends and I have the tickets. Does she need to be there or are they able to scan the barcode on the printed tickets and let my friends and I go through without her being there? Did anyone have a similar experience? Would my mom have to call/email anyone to let them know in advance of the day?

It seems to me like she should call and ask now plus review the policy on the tickets. It would really mess up your day if you showed up, tried to use the tickets and were denied. In cases like this, I wouldn't rely on message board feedback and just go straight to the source.

I concur, especially since this is an unique case. I know that a general rule for CM is that you have to have your ticket scanned prior to anyone else entering the park, however there are a lot of CMs that can speak on that policy and report it. While I'm sure there are a lot of Comcast employees, I'm not sure how many are heavily involved in Disney, or Universal forums.

Also, I would imagine if she didn't go there herself, her employment would need to be proven. Which still kind of goes hand in hand to her being there. As from personal experience and general knowledge, any perks in relation to discounts when you're associated with a company, typically you have to showcase your employment in some manner in order to receive a discount.

As said previously, better to go to the source, to either confirm it's not an issue, or to ask the source if there's another way to use the tickets if she needs to be with you, or her employment is needed to be proven.

Yes she needs to be there. The employee is required to show their badge and hold onto the ticket. Theoretically she could walk you in and then leave, but you won’t be able to go into the other park or anything.
