Just heard on the news that Comcast has withdrawn their bid to take over Disney. I am not sure that is good or bad news. What do all of you think?

I thought it was good too, but not sure Eisner is the answer.

definitely not

President Bush said in a speech this week that he wants to assure that all homes and schools have access to high speed internet. If the government commits money to this cause it could mean a huge influx of capital for Comcast. They could always make another Disney bid in the future. Just a thought.

I think the issue was that CC found out Disney was NOT interested in the take over. I always wonder what goes on under the table in these kinds of deals. Some similar things happened to DH's company 2 years ago with a takeover bid from GE.

I thought the Disney stock went up beyond the original CC bid. Hopefully, it will keep going up and not look like the "good buy" Comcast originally thought it was. (Hard to say with Eisner at the helm.) But if Comcast has even more money at their disposal in the future, they could come in with a higher bid.
