Comcast or Eisner?

The lesser of two evils is still an evil.
I am not happy about Comcast -- but cannot honestly say I know anything about them.
However, I do know enough about Mr Mike too know he should have been gone at least 10 years ago.

Unless Ei$ner pulls something out, he is out of the picture now anyway. Period. He is a figurehead at this point.
Comcast I believe *gets it* more so than Ei$ner (which isn't saying much).
I think either way Disney as we now know it is another piece of history.

Hey, lets face it.....Blood is in the water now!
The other corporate sharks will be lining up to snatch up Disney if Comcast fumbles.
The only hope for Disney independence now is for a benevolent group of backers to pony up to buy it and then sell the idea to the stockholders BEFORE 3/3!
If Mikey manages to hang on to the company by his fingernails, he will end up doing WORSE damage to Disney than Comcast IMHO. In this scenareo he will attempt ANY STUNT that will make the bottom line look better and he and his board richer.

Roam, what could Comcast have possibly done to make you think they "get it" even a little?

My mantra here seems to be independent and stagnant is better than being split into itsy bitsy pieces and sold on ebay...At least with Eisner in charge of an independent Disney there is still a chance at redemtion with a new CEO...With Disney pieces sold and licensed to whomever, wherever for whatever reason what chance does any sembelence of current Disney have in staying relevent?

Well first, on a scale of 1 - 5, with 5 being the high end, Ei$ner *getting it* rates below 1.
Ei$ner cares abour Ei$ner. I wish they would make an ALL ABOUT ME pin and replace Ei$ner's head with Tink's. THAT would be a hot seller.
From there, you can only go up. A dead dog would be better for Disney at this point above Ei$ner.
From what little I read Comcast is not afraid of spending money. They remind me of Tokyo DL. They will pony up the $ knowing to get a good return.
And they have Disney ties already, with 15 years of Disney experience under their belt from what I have read.

for me it would be the comments from Steve Burke that he thought animation and the parks had suffered from lack of investment, which had stifled the creativity needed to maximise the potential of those two divisions. It's something that "we've" been saying for years, but it's never come from Eisner's lips as far as I'm aware. It seems a lot of "creative" people have high regard for Burke, so I do think it's possible he might have the right ideas.

Well, I'm actually with Disneycrazed on this one (door # 3) and the only way to get to peek behind this door is for Eisner to remain for the time being (hey it only has to be until the confidence vote, hopefully no confidence, at the meeting), which means NO to Comcast, TWX or the other big guys who only want Disney as another toy to add to their collection.

Why does a no vote mean No to comcast?
That would be a seperate vote.

I just didn't speculate far enough. Certainly a no vote in and of itself doesn't mean squat with regard to Comcast but it does mean Eisner's shoes must be filled. A no vote could mean that Roy & Stan are finally getting some airtime and could be influencial in who replaces Eisner...Although I fully realize that a no vote could also be a no to Eisner because he's currently standing in the way of a possible buyout payday...

This things totally up in the air and speculation is rampant...But it sure is fun!

I am going to reiterate what I stated in another thread on this board. If any of you here have had the privilege of dealing with Comcast's Customer Service, you will understand why I placed an "Eisner" vote in this poll.

This is not to say that I necessarily want status quo to remain, but getting in bed with Comcast is like the proverbial "jumping out of the frying pan into the fire."

DemoBri1, what if Comcast takes a lesson from Disney and their customer service actually improves. Not that something like that is likely, but there is always hope.
