Combining Reservations

We're a party of 3, booked on the Fantasy for the May 7th cruise. Our friends are also booked on the cruise. We'd like to combine our reservations so that we can have dinner together, but we're worried about someone testing positive at the port and both families being turned away.

We do not live near our friends. We will not be traveling with them. We don't plan on meeting up with them until we've cleared testing and are in the terminal or onboard.

Should we link our reservations or wait till we're onboard and ask about changing dinner (both groups have main dining so at least that is in our favor)

We are linked with other family on our cruise but we are all from different states. From what have read from others and Disney, is that as long as you don't travel together before testing, everyone should be good. If you test positive it would only be your stateroom denied.

And I was told that final decision would be up to the people at the Port. So we aren't linking and will wait till we board.

If you travel separately you should be fine. In our case, the person who tested positive at port was booked in the stateroom as two members of my 5-person family. My whole family was allowed to board, because we traveled separately from the positive test. The Inspire doctor somehow cleared the rest of the stateroom to board after verifying the separate travel. We had a third linked stateroom that was denied boarding because they traveled with the positive test.
