Ok, we have points 250, at the WLV. If I decide to buy into the BCV when they go on sale, say 150, how do you go about utilizing your points for a stay at the BCV that would cost more than 150? I realize at the 11 month window, I couldn't use my WLV points to extend my stay at BCV, or could I? Do you folks with multiple homes move around during your stays if you find yourself with a shortage of points at your desired DVC resort? Is any of this making sense?

Can you secure additional time at BCV on a cash basis, and then use WLV points upon arrival?

Thank you in advance for your help!

you would be able to use the 150 BCV points to book at BCV at the 11 month mark, but would have to wait until the 7 month mark to add any additional daysat BCV using your VWL points.

And, you could also borrow from your next years BCV points to use for an extended BCV stay.

As I understand it you bank a years points (150), use the current years points (150) and borrow the upcoming years points (150).
This way you could conceivably have 450 points to use within one year, but this would require long term planning and the realization you would need to skip a couple years of travel for the reward of a bigger trip. Plan it out and call member services to see if your plan will work before banking or borrowing.

All the points I referred to above would have to be BCV points.

Can you secure additional time at BCV on a cash basis, and then use WLV points upon arrival?

No, cash reservations cannot be transferred to points automatically. Those reservations will come from 2 different sources (developer's inventory and member's inventory) and are NOT exchangeable, as a rule.

If there is availability at BCV at 7 months, you can easily add to your point reservation with your VWL points.

Good Luck!
