Hi everyone!

I have sort of a complicated reservation, and I wanted to see if this was possible.

Right now, I currently have traded into SSR in a one-bedroom using another timeshare through RCI. There will be three or four of us going, and we're planning to add the dining plan to this week.

I also have some developer's points from a recent purchase (I can't wait for my first "Welcome Home!"), so I also booked a Studio using those points for the first 4 days of the exchange, effectively allowing me to have a 2 bedroom for the first half of the trip!

My current plan is to put in the request for the studio be either connecting to or near the 1 bedroom, but I fully realize that is a request (and a complicated one at that!), and that the rooms may very well be on opposite sides of the resort. That doesn't really concern me too much...

My concern is that we will have one name in both rooms. My current plan is to have all of us listed for the 1 Bedroom, so we all get the dining plan, and then just have myself listed on the studio (as I'll probably be using the studio myself anyway), and not have the dining plan with the studio (since I'll already have it with the 1 Bedroom). So, my name will be in both rooms, and the only one on the studio.

Does DVC allow the same name to be on two rooms at the same time? Or, will this not work out? I realize this is quite complicated, but, I have to use the points, and I was so excited to be lucky enough to trade into DVC, that I really hope this will work!

Thanks for your help!

I don't think they'll allow you to be in 2 rooms. They likely can give you a 2 BR lockoff at SSR for the 4 days that overlap but you'll need to ask for it at every turn to maximize your chances. IF this were a resort that had dedicated 1 BR and studio units, it would be more complicated. Likely your best bet is to get the DDP for 3 in the 1 BR and 1 in the studio losing the few days for one person but saving the cost. Many find the food too much anyway so this may be a favor to you rather than a hindrance. And it's not really that complicated overall. I go by my middle name so if I were in that situation and had the goals you do, I'd list my middle name on the DVC points reservation since that's less complicated than the exchange listing.
