Combining hotel reservation - DLH

Has anyone been able to combine two separately booked reservations at the Disneyland Hotel? To clarify -- if I book an AP special offer rate for one night, and another night through Orbitz (or similar site) can I call the hotel to link the reservations? These would be for both standard room bookings

We have attempted this a few times because we oftentimes share a room with friends and it is easier for all of us if we can just put half the nights on one parties card/half the nights on the other.

On one occasion we had two separate reservations at the DLH through Orbitz and they were not able to do it. We had to actually change rooms that trip (I'm thinking I didn't get the most helpful person upon check in). On the other hand we have done three times at the Grand and had absolutely zero issues (once was me adding one extra night after the initial reservation through orbitz and the other times we split it with our friends). I would guess that calling ahead and putting in a "request" is the smartest thing you can do...I'm guessing you will get the "we can't guarantee but will note it on your reservation" answer.

We had two reservations once. I called first and they noted it on my reservations, then on check in they put them together.

We have been successful at linking reservations at the DLH. I would think that if the room types are the same that it would be easy to keep you in the same room. If your room types are not the same and the hotel is booked solid, it may be more difficult to do.

Call ahead and let them know you have two continuous reservations. They will make a note in the system and try to keep you in the same room. No promises, but they will try. We were successful 3 times at PPH. I'll find out tomorrow how DLH did with it.
