Combining a Reservation?

I have a 1 bedroom and a studio booked. I wanted the 2 bedroom lock-off, but booked what I could get. (I picked up nights by stalking the RAT.) Plans have changed and now there will only be one adult going on the trip with 4-5 teenagers. Can Member Services combine the reservation or make a note that guarantees that we are next to each other (basically a lock-off)? I don't care if I don't get the 6 points per night back that it would save if it had been booked as a lock-off. I just want to make sure we can make the room situation work. I had originally planned to just request and if it wasn't honored, then we would just split up, but that's not an option now with only one adult. Just not sure what my options are now. Thanks!

I don’t know the answer, but if it were me, I’d be calling MS & having a chat w/ them to see what can be done. & btw, good luck w/ 4-5 teenagers 😱.

They can't be combined into a 2-bedroom unless there is a 2-bedroom that is un-reserved and then it would actually be a cancel and rebook. They can mark them with a Travel With which will alert the room assigner to try and place them as close to each other as possible.

Also, keep in mind that several resorts have dedicated studios or 1BR - RIV, BCV, BWV, CCV all have dedicated 1BR, and Jambo House, RIV, CCV, BCV, BWV and VGF all have dedicated studios.

Usually applicable rule: if you reserve a 1BR and studio, you can request that they be close to each or even connecting rooms, but there's no guarantee the request will be granted, and the rooms could actually end up far from each other. Moreover, they would likely treat it as a swirtch from a studio and 1BR to a 2BR and would need to find that a 2BR lock-off (or possibly even a dedicated 2BR) that is separately open for the time you want and make a switch to it.

Also, I do not know what their reaction will be if you request that they try to put the rooms together because you are the only adult and none of the teens is 18 or older. Maybe they will actually make an attempt to get the connecting rooms, but you could also have a risk they could just cancel your reservation because of Disney's rule that someone at least 18-years or older needs to be one of the persons staying in a room.

Thanks for the responses! I didn't really think it would work, but I hate dropping both rooms in hopes that I'm able to grab the 2 bedroom lock off because I would hate to lose both rooms.

I have done this before but there is a risk....and I did have other points to help out if I needed it. I had two browers open. On one, I dropped the 1 bedroom first and then went back to drop the studio.

I immediately went to the other browser to to pick up the 2 bedroom which would now show. It has worked most of the time, but one time, it did not....

The other way I have done it is one night at a time...drop one 1 bedroom and studio, and then book the two bedroom and keep going...a lot of work but it worked out in the end.

It can be a little easier for you if there are still any 1 bedroom at the resort at the beginning or end of your trip because they you could drop the studio for those matching days, and quickly try to pick up that way.
