I'm assuming you own a different resort thatn SSR. If that's the case, you be doomed to the 7 month window for this type of reservation. You could bank and borrow to get a GV if you had enough points in one contract. You could schedule part of the time at the home resort and change it over at 7 months if available. What you cannot do is get the 11 month window just because you want to use points combined from two members/contracts.Originally posted by kaw1106
My BIL and SIL are going to Disney in Sept. , they are possibly interested in joining DVC in the near future. If they were to buy points at SSR (our points are at BCV) could we ever combine points to get a GV somewhere?

It could change but unlikely. Besides 10 months would be little better than 7 for the GV, especially at BWV. It will be interesting to see how hard the GV at SSR will be. My guess is they will be fairly easy with the costs as they are.Originally posted by jade1
This may change to 11/10 months right? That may help in the GV situation, OR you could possibly trade 150 SSR and 150 BCV to someone at OKW for 300 OKW and reserve at 11 months, or trade 2 years (300) of BCV or SSR (assuming you had 150) to someone at OKW. Another thing is down the road I'm sure someone at SSR would trade with you for BCV points and you could then combine and get a GV at SSR. There are also OKW points for rent (and soon will be SSR for rent)-then reserve at 11 months and in return rent your points. Good Luck.
Thanks for the replies, it is funny how our sales person never mention how hard it will be to get a grand villa at the 7 month window. We own at BCV (no GV). Has anyone here ever been able to get a GV at BWV or OKW at the 7 month window?
