What do you know about COSI? Will my 7 and 4 yr old boys enjoy it? Will my 4 yo be bored in 5 minutes?

How much of the Columbus Zoo is indoors?

We're planning our spring break trip to Columbus~it's south of here, that's the best we can do~.

We've got the Lion King IMAX on our to-do list as well.

Any other ideas for vacationing would be helpful. We leave in 2 weeks. Still have to find a hotel too.

DW and I went to Columbus in March 2 years ago to check out a Blue Jackets game. We went to COSI and thought it was pretty cool. It's a HUGE place, so I'm sure you can find some things both your kids will enjoy. We didn't go to the zoo, so we can't help you on that one. We stayed at the Doubletree Suites downtown. They had a great deal, the suites were large and well-appointed, and as a bonus we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. I got the deal from the Columbus Visitors Bureau website.

Surprise! It's Columbus!

If you've never been to Columbus, you will be surprised at how big it is. Northeast Ohioans have a conception of Columbus as a "cow town," but it's actually a bigger city than Cleveland. Check out Easton Town Center for a cool shopping experience you will not find anywhere in the northern part of the state.

Hi Pembo! There are lots of things to do in Columbus. COSI and the Zoo are 2 of the best!

Your children will not be bored with COSI. It is big and has lots of activities. I was there 2 weeks ago with DS 21 months and DD 5 1/2. Both had a great time.

As for the Zoo, we are members and go whenever we can. There are some indoor areas such as the Aquarium, Anphibians/Snakes, but most everything else is outdoors.

When is your spring break? I have the calender in front of me and it reads as follows:

Spring Break March 25 - April 4
Pavilion Fun Fair 10:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. on March 25, 26 & 27
Highlights are wildlife, habitat & conservation including keeper talks, hands on animal contact opportunities and other attractions.

The Zoo website is www.columbuszoo.org

I would suggest staying in Dublin or Hilliard. Both are only about 20-30 minutes from downtown Columbus were COSI is. There are many hotels for any budget range.

PM me if you want more info.

Jen:)

Just to add that if you are ever Toledo way, we have a branch of COSI and it is super cool. There is a special area for kids under 4 feet tall--older siblings can't go in at all!--so both your boys will enjoy themselves.

Thank you for the info. everyone! Keep it coming.......

Robin-We've never been to the Toledo COSI but oldest ds is in love with the Toledo Zoo. We were there 2 years ago on spring break and he made friends with the seal. It's all he talks about. ;)

I haven't personally been to COSI since they moved across the river, but all my family has and they all love it. There should be plenty for you all to do to keep you busy.

The Columbus Zoo, as been said, has some indoor stuff, but the majority of it is outside. I've been during many times of the year and as long as it isn't freezing or raining it is always a lot of fun.

As for hotels.... Dublin or Hilliard might be good, but I would also suggest Worthington/Westerville area. That way you have easy access to 71 S to downtown and Powell Road or 270 which can take you to the Zoo. Also it will be right by where the IMAX is and close to Polaris Mall if you feel like shopping. I know there are some really nice hotels near the IMAX at 23 & 270.
