Columbus Marathon?

Anyone have any feedback on this race? I'd like to give it a try, but I'll be doing the Galloway Run/Walk and plan to finish at about 5:30. Is this race slow runner-friendly?

Hi Katie,

I walked the Columbus Marathon in 2005.
I thought is was very walker friendly. I average a 15-minute mile. I enjoyed it...as for the "Our World is Flat" part I suggest you get in a bit of hill training.

The lines at most of the port-a-potties were very long. I stopped twice and was in line for a good 10 minutes each time - But hopefully that has improved over the years.

They had plenty of water, Gatorade, and GU at designated stops along the way.

Thanks, funwalker! That makes me feel better. Disney is such a fun marathon, and I'm not sure how it's going to compare to a more serious race. I guess I'll just have to try Columbus and see how it goes!
