Don't know whether this is on the right board but we have just booked to go October 11th 2007, and i'm already in planning mode (!), does this date coincide with Columbus Day and if so how busy are the parks before and after this date?

Many thanks

Columbus Day 2007 is Monday, October 8.

October is a good month to go...crowds are quite manageable!

Thanks - that's great! We normally go in May and have to deal with the humidity and love-bugs so October should be relatively easy going ;)

I thought it was pretty crowded during the week of Columbus Day in 2004. Not July 4th, Easter, and Christmas crowded, and probably not even middle-of-summer crowded, but definitely not what I would call low crowds. Major rides still required fastpass usage to avoid hour long waits. Still, October is a great time to go -- we are visiting in October again this year.

We went Columbus Day a couple of years ago. I would call the crowds moderate but manageable. It was still pretty hot, but no bugs that I recall. We liked it because we do not swim when it is cool and it was still good swimming weather. We went to a sold-out MNSSHP on that weekend which was very crowded! Still a great time to go though. There don't seem to be many low-crowd times left, even UG says so!
