Back already! So, you may have seen Nigel talk about us trying to change our flight. Well, that would be all my fault. We all know that my favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast (or you do now). We got to eat at Be Our Guest for lunch in January, and it was amazing. It seriously feels like stepping into the movie. So, of course, I am one of those people...yes, I still want to eat dinner there, so I am looking for that elusive BOG reservation. I thought I had given up all hope. I mean, come on, it is practically ungettable. I thought I was resigned, especially when I wasn't sure where or when MK would fit into our plans, back before
MNSSHP had been purchased.
But then, I started looking. Just for fun, mind you. Just for kicks. And then, it happened. Instead of saying, no tables available on 10/11, it said call for times. Well, hmmm. Why don't I call? Okay, long story short (too late), I snagged a BOG reservation for 10/11 at 4:20, which I thought would give us dinner and then we could enjoy the rest of the party. But then, the doubters started chiming in. Li Li, your flight lands at 1:52. Yeah, but 90 minutes for DME and then hightailing over to MK, we just might make it. It might be close, but we throw our bags at Bell Services and get the first bus or taxi that appears. But Li Li, your MNSSHP tickets are at will call. Oh. That. Hmm. So, we would have to land, get to DME, hope it doesn't take too long, check in, hope that doesn't take too long, get party tickets from concierge, hope it doesn't take too long (see the trend?), get MK bus and get to New Fantasyland, all between 1:52 and 4:20. And then Nigel says the dreaded words, what if our plane is delayed?
So, yeah. This is a hail mary pass. We can't change our flights right now because we bought round trip through Travelocity and the price to change is ridiculous and would costs us more than the entire flight costs for two people, round trip. BUT, there are earlier flights leaving that day from our airport...and the travelocity rep flat out said to me, don't change now, just try to walk up and change that day, which would be less expensive. So, we are going to do it. We'll get to airport extra early and see if we can pay to get on the earlier flight, give us some breathing room, and satisfy my selfish need to enjoy a glass of wine at Belle and the Beast's castle. Yes, crazy does look good on me. So, I am keeping my reservation and if nothing else, my crazy plan has only cost me $10 if we can't make the ADR.
Nothing like a bit of excitement to start a trip! It's almost like the Amazing Race.
In any case, I am really excited about the Halloween party. I have warned Nigel that we don't have time to stand in lines. I'm not wasting my precious party time to wait for a pic with seven dwarves, even if it is rare. That's just me. I got an FP+ for Haunted Mansion because otherwise Nigel would divorce me. But other than that, I really just want to see the villain party, the parade and the Hallowishes. That's not too much to ask for, right? I have a feeling Nigel thinks we are going to go on more rides than I think we are, but let's save that argument for Main Street, USA in front of hundreds of strangers.
So, day one should be fun but exhausting. Thank god, day 2 is a day of rest, or is it? Dun, dun, dun!!! [insert suspenseful music here]
