Looking for some advice

We usually go during our April school vacation (MA, usually mid to late April). Often it works out great. However, on 2017 it is the week after Easter... so we made some reservations for October 8-13 (Saturday Columbus Day weekend to the following Thursday). That said.. we may have some logistical issues in October. I was reviewing the crowd forecasts from **************.net, and Dave updated his forecast for the week after Easter given some recent analysis of spring break crowds (reduced from a 9 to a 7). http://**************.net/2016/07/03...rowds-in-2017/

I am now re-considering when I should go. Looking at going April 18 (Tuesday after Easter) and returning April 23 (Sunday). Thoughts? About what kind of crowds should I expect for the days I would be there? (given I'm skipping Easter weekend and starting Tuesday).

Thanks

Having traveled Columbus day weekend several times and spring break a while back, I'd say it's a little bit of a coin toss and your convenience and schedule should come first. If it's a tie after that consideration, I might lean toward Spring Break. Since Spring Break is more of a season than just one specific week (it varies around the country) you don't have one specific congested week. Easter in April is on the late side and you're coming a couple days after Easter day, so your crowds should be pretty decent, actually.

Columbus day week - love the weather, love the Food and Wine Festival, but the crowds are getting pretty "moderate+". At that time, you're in Halloween Party season too. That can be either a pro or a con depending on your point of view (Pro: going to the party, enjoying the decorations; Con: lots of days with MK closing at 7pm). I rely on crowd calendars that time of year to try to help me pick best days at each park and specifically the weekend will be pretty crowded. The rest of the week isn't too packed.

I guess for me the big factor is what's the risk Daves forecast is off. Usually that week is rated awful but his analysis shows this year it won't be bad given its so late. Thus Not sure which of the two to lean to.

Columbus Day weekend has gotten ungodly busy at Disney, one of the busiest times I have seen in my 20+ trips. It's food and wine, halloween parties, and fall break for schools in the south.

The april dates look real close to the Star Wars marathon weekend. Disney will be packed that weekend too. Other than some logistical things(road closures etc), the parks are not swamped with runners-many of us are in local hot tubs and massage rooms after running.

I personally would take April.

Resort rates for that April week will still be Easter pricing. Not sure how Easter rates compare to Oct rates but something to look into and consider.
