What is Columbus day weekend and a couple days after like?? Since a long weekend are crowds bad?

I was there last year for this week. Yes, the crowds are moderately heavy. I noticed them going down on Wednesday but the weekend and Tuesday were pretty busy.

I inadvertently booked my trip for this week; I didn't realize it was Columbus day until after I booked it! I don't get those days off anymore, and we are kid-less...Oh well

For what it's worth, according to touring plans time estimates it doesn't look too bad...

I'm not judging Touring Plans yet as the dining offers for October have not been released. Last year, free dining was able to overlap into the holiday weekend which I'm sure drove up the crowds. If you look at the historial numbers for last year, you will see TP's numbers are quite a bit higher than this year's predicition and I expect those numbers to change once the offers come out.

We were adults only last year too. It really didn't bother us; the crowds were not awful (except DHS on the Tuesday/day after Columbus day). I would go during that time period again.

See I saw that Touring plans had low predictions for that week too and was not sure it would stay low are go up. It may just depend on what specials come out.

Good to hear!! I figure even if it's crowded, it won't be summer crowded (I hope), and that's what I was trying to avoid by booking in Oct.

Ah yes. We were at DHS that Tuesday as well. It was one of the only nights Fantasmic was showing. I think part of the reason for the high crowds.

For the most part, the crowds were manageable. I've seen them more crowded during the summer. Epcot got busy on the weekend nights because of the Food and Wine Festival. Still not too bad though. We were able to get around and still do everything we wanted. Like Pakey, I would go again during this time.

Good to hear, I'm going over Columbus day this year. Though my weekend is mainly devoted to HHN. 117 more days to go!! :thumbsup2

FWIW we were there over Columbus Day last year - it was right in the middle of our trip - and I didn't really notice much, if any, difference in the crowd levels :confused3

We were there last year and yes it was somewhat crowded but NOTHING compared to Spring Break!! :scared1: It was quite hot last year so that might have been why it seemed crowded to me. Either way, it was a great trip.;)
