Columbus Day crowd

Our vacation this year unfortunately falls during Columbus Day week (due to school scheduled fall break). Does anyone know how crowded US is on that day typically? Is it usually packed with the locals? If so, is it just as bad over at WDW?

since it's the slower season, but it's a holiday. You should be fine but if it's busy, I would invest in the express passes if you are not already staying on site.

It does get busy that weekend or at least it was last year

Then definitely make use of express passes or stay on site. It will maximize your day.
