Hi!

Can anyone tell me about the Hotchocolate that changes colours? Where to find it at WDW and how much it costs? Just trying to plan our spending $$ before we go ;)

Thanks

you can find it about anyone. I have all the princesses and tinkerbell. As for as the taste I am not very fond of it. DD loves it I think only b/c of the colors. I just like the cans. BTW the big cans are 11.00 each.

The ONLY thing good about this is the cool container. Other than that it is a waste of money as the hot chocolate is not good at all. Not even the kids think it is good.

I've seen the cans before, Tink always caught my eye, but I never realized it changed colors. Freaky. LOL

We also bought this at the Disney store once but haven't seen it there for awhile. The cans are cool to keep and I fill them with Nestles Quik cause the kids love that. :rotfl2: Makes a really neat souvenir though.

It tastes GROSS!

They had it all over WDW on our Nov/Dec trip and they were giving out free samples too. We saw it at the Eporium (sp?) and also across the street at the candy store. Of course, it was also availalbe at DTD's World of Disney store and our resort souviner store.

All too funny, I forgot that my daughter bought a Tinkerbell tin and gave it to my wife for a Christmas present. I just checked and it hasn't even been opened yet. Guess we'll have to try it and see if it really is any good.

Thanks! I didn't realize it would taste bad-Perhaps we'll skip it and I'll think of something else to take back to the girls in the office. Any ideas?

My five-year old DGD loves it--she told me not to bother coming home from WDW if I didn't bring her some! DH also drinks it--it seems to taste more like the white chocolate than regular chocolate, but I don't think it's too bad.

I too bought the 3 pack for my girls and we also thought it tasted terrible. However, if you really want to try it, there's a recipe on back about making a cold smoothie out of it instead of hot chocolate. It was much better that way. It does take the whole small can to give it enough flavor though. If you really want to impress the kids, buy 1 small can of it and make a cold smoothie out of it once- don't bother making the hot chocolate.

We bought the 3-tin set last year, and I agree that the only thing good about it is the cute tins! It doesn't taste chocolatey at all...maybe more like white chocolate as a pp said, or vanilla-ish. My boys never finished a cup of it, they'd enjoy the colors, take a few sips, then say they're done. (And they love hot cocoa.) I tasted it once, and that was enough. We won't be buying that again, though I will be saving the cute tins! :)

I am sooooo glad we weren't the only ones to not like the taste!!! I think I'm going to empty out the can and replace it with Ovaltine!!!

Actually, we finally realized that you have to use MUCH MORE of the powder than you think to make it taste good (broke down and looked at the directions). When you make it the strength they recommend, it's pretty good (and colorful).

It doesn't really 'change colors', it just looks like cocoa with tint in the tin, and watery with tint in the cup, LOL! My kids mixed it with regular cocoa (or Ghiradhelli's, yum!) and added whipped cream as well.

It makes a cute, mid-priced souvenir. My kids liked the flavored lemonade in tins better.

Mickey ear pretzels covered with chocolate are always a big hit for the people in the office when i get home.

I think the mickey and chip and dale shaped mini pretzels are great for gift giving back home. You can buy small bags or larger bags. We also bought the chocolate covered mickey ears pretzels too over Thanksgiving too.. yummy!!

I love Hot chocolate and have tasted all of the colors. I have found that the blue one is the best tasting. And yes, you do have to use quite a bit of it.

When we were there last December, I sampled the colored hot chocolates at WOD. I didn't think it tasted too bad. My dd bought a couple of cans (blue and green) but have yet to open them (over a year??). I bought a set of 6 small tins -- they were "normal" flavors like dutch chocolate, irish cream, hazelnut, etc. all in the traditional BROWN color -- I thought they were very good.

I agree the "normal" flavors were good! I didn't like the colored ones because I didn't think they were chocolatey enough, but the kids liked them. The lemonade's didn't go over very well with the kids, I thought they were alright.
