Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

I'm up for any weekend even May ( expect after the 19th of May ) because I will be in Disney !!

I am a bit behind but work part time from home doing medical billing. I worked there full time for 5 years - tried to quit and they wouldn't let me so now they let me do what I want. It works for everyone !

I also run my own photography business.

Msslaydbug, when are you going to be at Disney? We'll be there from the May 21st-May 29th!

So, I could do a meet at WFF anytime in May up till the 16th. Since we're driving to Disney we're leaving waaaay early :)

Hope sorry about your hubby's job

I wonder if the shrimp has gotten smaller since we got them at WFF

WFF is a treat....I am thinking the last weekend in April...hubby threw a little hissy fit when I mentioned doing it the weekend of the 13th (our anniversary):confused3 :rotfl2:

Oh my goodness, Hope. I am so sorry to hear about your DH. Prayers and pixie dust to you guys!

I'd be interested in a DISmeet in May!

I work out at the Fed Center off of 6th and Kipling. My agency is Department of the Interior, the Bureau is Bureau of Reclamation. Most people don't have a clue who Bureau of Reclamation is, but we are the ones that built and operate the Hoover Dam, grand Coulee, etc. I am in Human Resources. Our mission is bringing water and Power to the West.

My fiance worked for Coca-Cola, but they are in the process of restructuring and he lost his job on Tuesday.

:wave2: Hello fellow DOIer. I worked for BLM at the fed center, but I am now at NPS

Update... :scared:

A little backstory...DH has wanted to move up here for almost 2 years. He first tried to find a job that would relocate us, but most places wanted someone local. Then he got permission from his company to let him work virtually. We decided it would be better to winter in AZ than here, and so we planned to come up here by the end of March. Then in December, his company announced that they were going to offshore 70% of the company to India (they were already at 50/50), so we decided to put the move on hold. Well, his team got a huge project, and the company they were doing it for was going to pay to co-develop it. Combined with a larger than expected tax return, plus the stimulus package, and we decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and move. DH felt confident that as long as this project would be in development, he would be employed. It would be long enough for us to get up here, pay the moving expenses, get settled and he would get a 3-month notice in August.

I'm sure you can see where this is going...On Thursday, DH's first full day working virtually, his team was given 3 month layoff notice. :headache: I should backup a bit. His team is actually 2 parts, half worked in AZ, half in MD. It is set up this way because the company (HQed in AZ, bought a place in MD). His boss works in MD, and his way of reaching the "number" was to cut all the AZ people. The project didn't get cut or anything, and now everyone except this guy, apparently, are wondering how the heck they are going to complete it considering the skill set of the people let go vs who they kept. Of course, DH asked a million times "I don't want to leave if I will get a notice the week after we get up there..."

So anyway, if anyone knows of anyone in need of a QA Engineer/Software Tester with SilkTest automation experience or similar...

I'm sure in the long run, things will work out. DH will be working through June 30th, and is getting a decent severance. As long as he can find something not long after June, we could end up very much ahead if we can pocket the severance. He would have gotten a notice if we had stayed, and probably would have felt the pressure to take any job even if it was in AZ where he didn't want to be anymore; now he can focus just on CO. But this is not the way we wanted to start our Colorado adventure.

Good news...DH is attending his first Colorado Rapids game as a local (he is a big fan and has come to several games when we lived in AZ) and I have my scrap space about 75% setup.

Micromedix needs someone. QA engineer III. You might want to check it out. That is the company my DH worked for and was laid off from last year, but he has a buddy that still works there and he mentioned it to him. It's at www.thomsoncareers.com job #TEC00003119. It is located in Greenwood Village.

I am working the last weekend in April, but if we did it later in the day (2 or later probably), I could make it. I might even be able to make it as early as 1 or 1:30, but 2 would be safer for me.

A Kindred Spirit! I love to scrapbook! Hope your DH finds a replacement job soon.

Another scrapbooker? Whoohoo! It's nice to know there are a few of us on here.

Hope, I'm crossing my fingers for your husband. That is good to hear about your crop space. I've spent more time organizing lately than cropping. I've GOT to get going so that I'm semi caught up by the time I go to WDW! :)

I love scrapbooking...I just can't ever seem to make time to do it.

I am going to take some of our pictures from the zoo and frame them for the youngest's birthday. She loves animals and thinks of Suzy the orangatuan(sp?) as her buddy. Had you seen the way they interacted last spring you'd think the same thing.

I would love to know if there is a good scrapbooking place to get single sheets of paper. I am still working on stuff from when my CM supplier went out of business (and got $500+ of supplies for $100). I want to do a collage and a single picture of Suzy...actually this one

My daughter works at a scrapbooking store in Louisville called Cut IT Out and they have lots of single sheets of paper.

My daughter is the scrapbooker in our family, not me :-)

Good Morning,

Found out yesterday that I have strep throat for the second time since Feb. I am so tired today I want to go home.

Babytrees-are you in Denver or Colorado Springs? Can't seem to remember if you told us. I have several scrapbook stores I go to. I know what you mean about finding time. I always have so many different things I am working on I don't get much time either.

Right now I am working on my daughter's wedding and that is really taking the time. We are having a Cinderella wedding and I am making all the center pieces, table favors and I will do her flowers plus she lives in another state and with the wedding here I am doing all the organizing. Not a great time to get strep throat!

I think we should all do a DIScrop!! :) Do you ever go to Archivers? They are pretty reasonable. Where are you again? There is a great store in Arvada called Your Crop Shop.com and I like Scrap and Stamp Station off of 120th and Washington.

Cut IT Out is great too! I haven't been out there in a while, but it sounds like they've really bulked up their inventory. I need to make the trip out there soon.

I love Archivers. A DIs crop would be fun.

I am sorry you are sick but what wonderful mom you are!! Sounds like a lovely wedding.

I live in Littleton but Colorado Springs is actually our favorite place for day and camping trips...So I'd be happy with recommendations anywhere!!

Where is Archivers???

I am peeved because our camera broke the first part of our FL trip and once I came back I got so busy I missed ordering our photopass cd so I have under a dozen pictures of our trip last year.:headache:
