Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

we were on 18th and blake last year.......perfect seating not too crowded. Got there about 40 minutes early though.

I loooooooooove working downtown. walk 16th and the pavillions everyday for lunch!

we will get there about an hour early...thanks for the recommendation!!

Pooh Friend, Looks like we'll just miss you as you'll be getting off the Magic the same day DH & I will be boarding it. I know there are several guests who are doing both the 15 day & 5 day cruises back to back. I wish we could do that too, but with school schedules that would be too much time away from our 3 DS's.

Wow, I wish I could take the back to back with the 5 days!!! That would be a perfect touch for our honeymoon, but I guess I will keep dreaming! :goodvibes

OK downtown dwellers...time to dish on the best places for lunch, happy hour, etc. I've been working downtown for almost twelve years and am always on the lookout for someplace new to eat or drink.

I like Mici, Shelby's, An's Lemongrass Grill and Lagunas for lunch. Marlowe's has a good happy hour but for variety I really like the Falling Rock Tap House.
Sorry, I can't help you out...I always ask you for recommendations!

Don't let Heidi fool you with her innocent act here...she knows all of the places in the Denver metro area to go out drinking.
Only because you told me where to go!! :thumbsup2 My vote is Caldonias but that isn't downtown...they have a great Happy hour though!

:wave2: Hi! This is cool! I love hearing about food and fun recommendations around the city. We have lived here since 1999. Looks like there are some fellow Dis cruisers here too. Like you folks, I'm counting down the days to embarkation. 263 days and counting...

As far as restaurants go, I'd welcome any suggestions for great fresh sushi.

If you are close to Lakewood, there is one off Colfax when you are headed west towards Colorado Mills Mall (coming from Simms and 6th). I have no idea what the name is, it looks like a house but is actually a sushi place. Everyone at work goes there and raves about the food.

Born and raised in Littleton. Lived there for 35 years - but now I live in Florida (45 min from the Mouse). Can I still join? I kinda miss some Colorado things. But not snow. Never snow!!

Hi All,

I live in Brighton and work in downtown. My office is on 16 and Arapahoe (where the old Palimno (?) restaurant used to be) Right across from ESPN Zone. Live in Colorado all my live.

WE are planning a trip to the world this September, the 7 -19. Can't wait!!

Lunch would be great with a group if Diser's...

Well if folks are giving recommendations, how about a good Cuban restaurant? I'll drive anywhere in the Denver metro area. After spending some time in Miami before and after our December cruise, I really want some great plantains!!

Thank you!!!!!! I will find it. DH and I are open to trying pretty much anywhere.

On a side note: When we first moved here, we tried an Ethiopian restaurant. (I'm not sure exactly where it was/is.) Imagine my surprise when the waitress instructed me to eat with my hands and promptly picked up a piece of my food and fed me with hers. I will never forget this experience. Life..... strange, delicious, chilling, high.

Sushi-I have been told that Sushi Basho on the corner of Sante Fe & Littleton Blvd/Bowles is good...I wouldn't know I hate sushi. :lmao:

I would love to know if there is a good cuban restaurant.

I've been looking on the web but I can't narrow down a restaurant name. Would you please post the name if you come accross it again? Thanks!

Hey all of you Denver area DIS-ers, anyone know of any coupons for the Downtown Aquarium?

Thanks!

Let me look...there's usually one somewhere.

One of my friend's retired from being an engineer and is now the shark pooper scooper there:rotfl:

Wow! You all are so helpful! We will try some of the recommendations.
From restaurants to dentists to dance studios etc... it is sometimes really hard to find one that you really love. Thanks everyone. :goodvibes

As for a Cuban restaurant, I'd love to know also.

My fiance is Cuban so he is use to home cooked cuban food and we haven't found a really outstanding cuban restaurant. There is a Cuban restaurant located off of C-470 and Ken Caryl that is pretty pricey, but I liked the food (my Fiance didn't), we also want to try the Cuban restaurant downtown but haven't made it there yet. I could really go for some Palomia and black beans or ropa vieja right now without having to cook it myself!

See, now I don't even know where that is, so you can't say you learned from me.

Sushi Hai on 32nd in the Highlands, Sushi Han in Writer's Square downtown or Sushi Zanmai in Boulder.

So, other than snow, what can you not find in Florida that you used to enjoy in CO?
