Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

So I'm not the only one who checks the weather every morning (and maybe later on in the day if the forecast doesn't match up with what I see out my window) to see what we'll have that day?

It always cracks me up to have a call from my mother-in-law in Mississippi. She frequently calls to check on our snow counts, because the Weather Channel thinks the Eisenhower Tunnel is in Denver! "Oh my! Do you guys have your groceries already??? That weather looks horrible! The Weather Channel says you are getting 2 feet today!!" Me: "Um, well, the sun is shining and it is in the 60's, so I don't think we'll see any of the snow from the MOUNTAINS today!" *chuckle*

And yes, she's been here during the freak sunshiny day/snowstorm/70's the next day weather, so she -should- know better!

It's been forever since I've been but with a kid marching in it we kind of have to go.

I am not going... I work weekends... but I hope the weather makes for a nice parade

I try and watch WB2 to see what's the forecast... but I rarely see that weather last all day lol.... and yeah... I too have people who call or email asking how much snow we got.... uhhh... none usually lol

Lets see-we have a house thats for sale in arvada-and i live and work in colorado springs-hubby is in the Wyoming National Guard and just got activated for a 2nd all expense paid vacation in the sunny middle east so it will be a while before we see WDW again.
No St paddys parade for me either-8 years as a high school track parent has taught me to fear anything that occurs outdoors in colorado in march.

Colorado Springs here! We may be moving if our house sells this spring/summer. Don't really want to move, but oh well.

Currently planning a WDW trip in November at VWL but may try to change to BCV based on availability at the 7 month mark

Hi all!

Thanks to Msslaydbug for pointing out this thread. How fun that there are so many of us from Colorado! I chuckled reading all of the posts about weather. Don't tell the rest of the world that we don't get the snow totals from the mountains--we don't want everyone moving here for our sunshine!!

We live in the Western part of Arvada, and have two trips coming up. We're taking a family trip May 10-17 and then my husband and I will be at WDW in November (16-22) for a trade show. I'm hoping to catch MVMCP one of those nights, plus we're looking forward to riding a lot of rides that the kids are still too short to ride.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you CO DISers!!!

We're in North Thornton... but have lived in Arvada, Westminster and Broomfield!

We went last May... no trip planned to go again, but you never know! Everyone loved going and so we may just have to go again... sometime!

well hello everyone, and thank you to Msslaydbug to pinting this thread out to me.

born and raised in denver (well unincorperated adams), now live in federal heights (south northglenn/west thornton).

We will not be heading back to wdw until hopefully next summer (09). Also will not be attending the st patty's parade this year (my first time missing in about 15 years). But instead I will be on a plane to vegas.....so not to worried about missing the parade....lol


Work downtown with an awesome view of the capitol out my window, so anyone want to catch lunch on 16th street mall and talk disney sometime let me know...I am all ears...get it..hahahaha ugh just kidding!

we were on 18th and blake last year.......perfect seating not too crowded. Got there about 40 minutes early though.

I loooooooooove working downtown. walk 16th and the pavillions everyday for lunch!

Hi All!! We're out in the Thornton/Brighton border area! This trip will be our first to Disney and Fort Wilderness Campground. We're VERY excited!!

I always take a second look at your name... my brother is "jsmith" and we lived in Arvada for so long! Small world hey!

My hubby is in the Colorado Air National Guard... he too has gone to the middle east, missed Christmas 3 of 4 birthdays and New Years this year, but is home now and not going back till sometime next year... How long will your hubby be gone?

I work in Lakewood out at the Fed Center. I love my drive in to work, straight up Kipling!! No fighting rush hour traffic for me on I-25 or C-470!

I am going on the 15 day Eastern Panama Canal cruise in August and will stop at Disneyland a few days before the cruise. Unfortunately not enough time to stop by WDW this year.

I've posted on previous Colorado DISers threads, but it's great to see that we're getting a new one started.

We're from Colorado Springs. Our next trip to Disney is the the 5 day Bahamas cruise on 9/1/08. Just DH and I are going this time. Our last cruise, (1st Disney cruise), in October 2006, we surprised our 3 DS's with the cruise and got all the way into the stateroom before they found out we were actually going on the cruise!

I've been to WDW 5 times in the last 7 years, and Disneyland more times than I can count because I grew up in California. I love planning our own Disney Vacations so much that I'm now a Travel Agent, so if any of you Coloradoans want help with your Disney plans let me know.

Pooh Friend, Looks like we'll just miss you as you'll be getting off the Magic the same day DH & I will be boarding it. I know there are several guests who are doing both the 15 day & 5 day cruises back to back. I wish we could do that too, but with school schedules that would be too much time away from our 3 DS's.

OK downtown dwellers...time to dish on the best places for lunch, happy hour, etc. I've been working downtown for almost twelve years and am always on the lookout for someplace new to eat or drink.

I like Mici, Shelby's, An's Lemongrass Grill and Lagunas for lunch. Marlowe's has a good happy hour but for variety I really like the Falling Rock Tap House.
